Good evening ladies
Everyone seems to be doing really well. I've had some luck on Viva today too so my total there is gradually sneaking up at last.
I think I'll be having an early night, I did Race for Life this afternoon and the walking and the sunshine has worn me out. DS and DH came to cheer us on, DS fell asleep in the car on the way home and then when we got home he said he wanted to go to bed. He was all tucked up by 5 o'clock! I bet that means a early start tomorrow morning though.Making money for Christmas 2012!0 -
Hi everyone, well done on the money making :j
Still at £2.20 today, but received £10 capital bonds from ips, £15 amazon from looney and had a £60 refund for an item I bought which had to be sent back as not fit for use.
Been in tears the last half an hour as my assignment has to be in on monday and I just can't work out the referencing, i have read the harvard citations on refrencing, the guidance notes and i just want to give up on it at the moment I just have no clue
Going to try and do some more surveys and maybe have a pampering evening instead (whilst aiming my assignment towards the bin)
Well done on doing the cashback thing, I didn't read up on it as I have missed several bargains this week and don't want to tempt fate lolComping wishlist for 2017

Well done Nicky. You should have posted your sponsorship link. I would have sponsored you again.
Savvy - I agree with you, the cross referencing was the hardest part of my course. It was years ago now, so I'm not sure I can help you.I understand how you feel though. Perhaps an early night will help, as it might make things clearer in the morning.

My sponsor page is still open and able to receive sponsorshttp://www.raceforlifesponsorme.org/nicolakatewalker I just put a piccy on of me and DH's family when we finished. I'm second from the left (the one who looks about 14 years old!)
Savvy - I remember being totally confused by the referencing system. Everytime I thought I'd checked and double checked it, my essays would get a commment about not being referenced correctly. It drove me loopy so I feel for you.Making money for Christmas 2012!0 -
Nicky - I've sponsored. Not a lot, but like our motto says - every penny helps.
I sponsor anyone doing anything for cancer and children's charities and have given quite a lot recently. I wish it could have been more.
p.s. I wish I looked 14 too.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

You are very welcome. I value the sounding board here, and how we all help out, so any time. You will love it even more if you manage to refer someone. I have redeemed £10 this month from them, and have 6 referrals, only 3 of which regularly use it.
I have been doing making sure i go every day and do the things for free points, and it quickly adds up. I hope you get to redeem soon.0 -

That's lovely of you, thank you very much
I don't mind looking younger than I am (32, nothing like 14!) but on my very young looking days I've had some funny looks when I'm with my son and my pregnant tummy! I've been considering cutting my hair as I think that's one of the main reasons I still look like a child :rotfl:Making money for Christmas 2012!0 -
Hi guys!
I have been reading this thread religiously but never have time to post. Thanks for all the info on surveys ect, really helpful.
The OH and I are both struggling mentally/physically; we're doing so much just to keep afloat and its catching up with us. The OH rang earlier, he was nearly in tears. Said he's just so tired, said theres so many tube repairs on the main lines in London that he has to leave 3.5hrs before he's due in at work only 20 miles away! So he's gettin up at 2.30am to get in for 6am and do a 12hr shift! He swaps onto nights tomorrow in prep for Glee for 3 nights, so the build up has wiped him out. He said he had an arguement today with his collegue who was being derogitory about his wife, told him he didnt know how lucky he was to be able to go home to her and his family every night, bless. He's really struggling, not easy working 200miles away
So while he's away Im holding the fort here with x2 students, baby and 7yr old. That in itself isnt a problem but when you add surveys, ebay, carboots, foster training(we're a month away from panel so my social worker is throwing worksheets at me daily!) baking(my business) and juggling finances its draining. Im up at 6am everyday for the students and in bed late after I've caught up with the day, im sleeping so light as I have so much on my mind; things I need to do, that im just not getting enough sleep. Ah well! It wont be forever.
So thanks for keeping me going, your all an inspiration!2025 Mortgage start £378K 2025 Overpayment £103 Savings Challenge 2025 **MONEY MAKES ME HAPPY**0 -
elysia2003 wrote: »I've made my money today - sort of. I signed up to that new cashback site on Grabbit. As a promotion every day for a week, at a certain time, they are refunding people who purchased at that time, upto £100.
I bought DD1 an Electonic book - Cheap kindle thingy from Boots (half price). It cost £51.06 and I have that amount pending in my cashback. I just hope they pay now. I won't be too gutted if they don't because I wanted it anyway, but it will be great if they do.
I'm not being mean - I would buy DD a kindle without any second thought, but she doesn't like it. I did think of a Sony one - but she doesn't look after her stuff, and it would be broken in five minutes. With something affordable like this, I can afford to replace it.
Sorry to be nosey re Boots elec book, - was it online, just looks a fab price, at that price wouldn't mind getting one for Miss Hoodie for bday, always reading, but as you say the sony and the amazon are lot if they get broke.
Like last yr, Miss Hoodie has DSiXL for he bday, (end Sept) went to Devon, Oct half term, she left it in the caravan... luckly the site had closed so no one else went in, and we got in back, but it was more luck that judgement. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
We finally have Miss Hoodies bedroom all sorted, all I've got left to do is set up her printer, then we've got someone out to do her TV, think we need a new aerial, so its on hold for now!!
Next job sort my bedroom.... that take a month of Sundays.
Shes's still hyper about the relatives, she went out with dad today to a science and animal fayre at a local school, I wanted to go, but you had to park at another school, knew wouldn't be able to get around, but it gave us chance to finish her room. She had her height measured and she was 139cm, so thinks that about 4ft8in / 4ft 9in... to which she though was brilliant as she was almost as tall as her Irish nan, and she said her sister is smaller than her, Miss Hoodies asked when can she meet them.... but I did say that everyone won't give her money... which got met you oh... but they might do!! Explained that if everything goes ok, it be fortnightly phonecalls, she can email them, and they come over 2 or 3 times a yr, (for family) so shes happy with that, as she said I've got everyone here, there an extra.
Treated her to Pizza tonight. for being a star on Thursday. x
On the thrify side, added up spends for birthday as there all sorted, and allowing 2 spare boys, 2 spare girls in the budget, (exclude me, mum, dad, Miss Hoodie) budget was £445, but we've brought it in at £105. We were lucky we had some carry overs from last yr, and hit the sales...
The next big plan is to sort out xmas presents, as Open Uni starts Oct + Nov, so plan to have xmas all brought by Sept, then take a couple weekends to wrap nearer the time. But we've cut right back, as previous yrs we've had extimated budgets of £1k, then last yr was £800, this yr we've estimated we need £500. We've really gone thrifty, but people still get good presents. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
