Loving the challenges. Will go and declutter now although I don't think I have much tbh. Alot of books though. Is there a site that is better for these than ebay?
I have a safe that I will save my money in rather than an account as I am really strict about dipping into it so that is fine and I love counting it!! lol
Have got a sealed pot on the go for the coins although my 2 year old twins won't be happy as that is usually their play money.. opps
The saving food saving money is such a good idea and I'm sure I will save a fair bit that way.
Right off to clear the bedroom!!
  • Good morning ladies. Another hectic day in our house today.

OH bought a car yesterday to 'do up and sell on'. Yes he can probably do it and make £500 (I've told him it's going towards our holiday this year!), plus means he won't be on the Xbox every minute he's not at work and can leave me in peace!

I've had 8 orders to do today, feel frazzled already and it's only 1130!

I'm so excited about the challenges!

Ebay - toys, clothes, general clutter (can we sell the OH?!). It'll be nice to have a clear out! Will only use my personal account for this and not the business.

Christmas Savings Account - quick question - does opening a savings account affect your credit score? OH's is not too good so might get him to open one too :)

£5 shopping savings - goes into the Christmas Savings Account

Sealed Pot - I'm part of the sealed pot challenge so two birds one stone! Must go and finish off my giant tin of roses now.

Finally, welcome along to the new members of the thread x

Finally finally, I'm not sure when I'll be able to get on again today so if I don't speak to you again before tonight, have the most fantastic New Years Eve, whatever you may be doing, and here's to us all having a Thrifty Gifty 2011 xx
Dribbling my way to £11k... so far £653.69/£11000

Hi Jena - you are most welcome to join in. The more the merrier.

Hi Twinklestar - I thought I recognised the name on BP but I couldn't be sure. How's your mum , OH and the kids?

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

There is a challenge to make extra money above - If you already are doing ebay (I know Pammy does it regularly) Please TRY and make £50 over and above your usual amount.

I have promised to pm a simple guide to bingoport to a couple of you but I haven't had chance - I will do it tomorrow - I promise. Today has been hectic.

Hi Elysia, thought I had confused you with the different name on bingoport. Mum & Dad are fine thankyou as are the kids. I am currently walking with crutches after taking a tumble on christmas day (and i wasn't even drunk as my OH keeps telling everyone!) Hope you and you family had a great christmas.

Really looking forward to these challenges only hope I can keep up with all of you lovely people, you all really inspire me with your stories of what everyone managed last year.

Anyway a bit of good news. I joined up golden hat bingo thismorning, as there was a promotion through bingoport to get £3 free (no deposit required) Anyway I have just played half of it through and won £29!!! I know its not a fortune but not bad for nothing, I cant believe it as I hardly ever win anything. Does anyone know if I have to deposit before I can withdraw or shall i just put card details in and see if it lets me take the money out? The money has gone into balance as opposed to bingo bonus money.

Hi everyone. Was good today and got up and did all my pre New Year cleaning so just having a break before I tackle the fridge and cooker! Love the challenges - I haven't done ebay for years. I cleared out my clothes to the charity shop before Christmas so it looks like I will have to be ruthless with the craft chest - I have some cross stitch kits I've had for years and DDs don't want so now's the time to see if I can get rid of. I have other stuff lurking in the garage so see what's there - and yes I do have lots of books...

  • Can't wait to get on with the challenges!!

    1. THE AIM IS TO MAKE £50 ON EBAY.

I'll give it a go but I'm also someone that thinks "if i don't want it why will someone else" I have got an ebay account but haven't used it for a while but i don't say no to a challenge!

    2. OPEN A SEPARATE CHRISTMAS SAVINGS ACCOUNT.

I've had an xmas account with the Skipton for a while so I have no problem sorting this and this has been a reminder to get the direct debits sorted.

3.SAVE UPTO £5 WHEN YOU DO YOUR SHOPPING

Isn't the amount at the bottom of the list the best bit!?! I would usually put this onto a supermarket savers card but we aren't here for Xmas 2011 so I'll just use this as a reason to make me smile at the end of a nightmare shop!

    4. Save for January sales!

I've already signed up for the sealed pot challenge - however, it will be used for our holiday fund rather than the sales.

Going for a walk with hubby and kids so expect a no-spend day for me!

Just a quickie point picked up from telly re Ebay. (one of those money making BBC1 daytime jobbies), the theory is most people will have time spare on a sunday, and be more willing to put in last minute bids.

The best time is to end a listing on a Sunday anytime from afternoon to 10pm.

if you did a 10 day listing - that goes on a Thurs - ends on the Sunday
7 day listing - Sunday to Sunday.

Can't believe how fast the thread has gone, love the challenge, thou I have to cheat slightly on the loose change challenge, as Miss Hoodie gets the change, and the 50ps....... she would have the £1 coins and the notes if she had her way (any there was any!!).

def looking forward to the £50 ebay challenge - got a few things to list xx

Thanks for this, I was going to put some bits on today but will wait until Sunday and do the 7 day listings :)

Kec I will go add you on my Toluna xx

I hope you guys are creating opinions,as thats how you get your bonus points. You create an opinion ,we do circuit, leave opinions ,you get the points.
Its a max 15000 points a month in bonus but its a great help.Dont worry about getting screened out.It really is the demographics.Your best bet is as with all of them.Try and answer the email as quick as possible. You can enter the surveys off their home page or the email you get.
When it asks you how long you want an opinion open make it 1 month. When its a poll 6 months. As you need 500 poll votes for points. As you will tell opinions are more fruitful.

Good luck all.Best get myself on bp.

I joined this last year and failed miserably:( this year I am determined to keep on track esp as our new year is starting off on a money spending high:( our printer has broken and today OH went to start the car and...nothing. so have had to call out green flag but have had to add home start to the policy:mad: so much for money saving when we took out the policy and not having home start:mad:
I need to get back into doing surveys and try and get my head round bingoport.
