Hello
I'd like to join here too please, I already belong to many of the survey sites and really need motivation to save money and be organised
I 'd write more but need my bed.
On topcashcashback there is an Engage mutual savings account on offer 35.35 cashback, I don't know any thing about it and am half asleep, I just thought it was a savings account with free money? might be good for the Jan challenge?
night all

Elysia2003 - Thanks for the challenge for January!!
The shopping one is a great idea and great way to save.
I have a seperate christmas acc that i DDebit every month. Dont miss the money too much as it comes out as soon as i get paid.
Im already doing the £365 challenge and started at the beginning of December so i can use it towards Christmas at the end of November this year. I like the coppers idea, I save for everyone else' bits but not for me so will find another pot for this one. Treat me fund!!
Got a couple of nice evening dresses to sell plus one i brought from ebay which is new with tags but too big, so hopefully that should see to my £50 for January although i would like to get rid of as much as possible (house full!!). Going to plough my way through the piles one at a time. Did sell 2 bits today for £10 ish with the fees taken out so guess thats a good start.

I dont think I have anything to Ebay, most of the clutter in our house is my craft stuff. I gave most of my spare craft stuff to my sister with her Christmas presnt. Other rooms are down to bare minimum as I only buy things that I need really. Daughter is too old for toys and her clothes wear out before she throws them out.
We save up our pennies towards Christmas, did it last year but didnt start until later in the year so already started that one. Dont save for New Year sales as I only really buy the cards and wrap then as havent got any ladies to buy for really in my family, my two sisters and my nieces have hand made stuff. OH always wants more dvds so cant get them till later in the year as he buys them all year round.
As for the shopping, OH does the food shop although I go with him. He doesnt like to call his money "our" money, its always "his" so if there is money saved on food shopping I dont get a look in. Only money I get for my self is my child benefit which will only be for 2 more years and my DLA and anything I make on the surveys etc. Out of this I pay for all daughters things like clothes and toiletries etc, school trips so doesnt leave much for my self at the end of it.0 -
Morning all! Defo up for the challenge! Would be great if they had a free listing weekend coming up on eBay but bet they wont!
DS has a piggy and he gets all my change so afraid that ones out but like the shopping idea and need to set up a bank account as usually put it all in a pot but when I need change dip into it! Oops! Plus be easier to transfer money from quidco and tcb to the saving account!
Right I am off to have a look for a savings account with cashback if I am lucky!:xmassmile**New** Thrifty Gifty Money Making for Christmas and all occasions 2012**:xmassmileMember No. 11 of Happy Chappy's Clip Strip Club!

Thanks for the challenges - I have next week off, and was already planning, at some point" to take a pile of photos and get listings ready for ebay. Unfortunately I've never actually managed to sell anything so will be searching for hints and tips.
And having looked at previous listings, most of the stuff I have has never sold for other people either.
I'm thinking of listing most, if not all, of my Fraser bears and baby bears of which I think I've got 7 or 8 matching pairs (bought each Christmas I've been single, still single, but bored with the reminder sitting at the end of the bed!!!!!)
I also have half a dozen Kathy van Zeeland handbags which I very rarely use (what a waste of money)
And I can list more books on GreenMetropolis0 -
Morning All,
thanks for the challenge. I am doing the sealed pot challenge this year, and starting it already, but I think I will put in the savings from the supermarket. Im going to try and keep my weekly shop to 30-40. I want to save a lot this year. I managed to put 1000.00 into my savings account last year, so I want to try and double it this year.Im close to a redeem on my bingo. I wont be on tonight as im going out for dinner, so probably go on later today so its all done and dusted.
Ebay, I sold a lot of DD's stuff last month and gave a lot away. Have my wedding dress, and tried to see it last year and it never moved, I find folk want a bargain, but I would rather freecycle than give it to someone on ebay for buttons........ Anybody want it? Its stunning Size 12.Saving 2.00 coinsGrocerys set to 40.00 pwBeing Thrifty0 -
somehow I fell off the wagon of being organised in 2011. Have just checked the survey sites and I still have £25 lurking there!
In 2011 I will do more surveys and save the resulting vouchers for Christmas!
DD1 got very stressed over her christmas shopping - she has ME and stress is not a good idea! And she made me stressed cos it was me picking up her last bits for her! Whilst I was trying to sort the rest of us out!
So a good deal of my basic Christmas shopping must be completed before the end of October 2011! And the way to do this is to save (will be doing sealed pot again - other one is almost full), and to pick up bargains when they become available.
Have never ebayed, but could do some music magpie and selling of old phones in January - will report back what I manage to earn.:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -

Morning all, hope you are all well today and raring to go on the challenges.
Quite excited about the Ebay challenge as I have loads to list, I just hate labelling them and packaging them, oh and the taking loads of parcels to the post office and getting odd looks lol. Confident I will hit the target and thensome. Sometimes I am amzed at what I would consider junk others would pay a healthy sum for.
Not sure how I'm going to do the january sales challenge and the shoping bill challenge, we put our loose change in a pot and hen we go shopping we take it in with us, pop it in the money sorting machine and it gives us the total off our bill lol.
Getting super organised today, have been all go since 7am doing bingoport posts, surveys, dooyoo etcComping wishlist for 2017

Thanks for the Challenge Eilysa
No 1 = I have a problem with Ebay - Well I already have an ebay account but hubby enjoys surfing it far too much. If I sell stuff - he will just buy more dvd blurays. Bad boy! So I am toying as to whether to open a new ebay account. I lose the standing I already have with doing that tho. Or shall I just carry on with the one I have and just change the password so he can't get on!!! lol I have always been a bit of an "Ebay Snob" with my listings (people aren't gonna want my offerings) and often CBA to put things up for sale - so they just end up going to the charity shop. So I need to get over this.
No 2 = I already "save" for Christmas with Park Hampers and have always done so since I was 9. I get the love to shop vouchers and although my order is only £500 it pays for Christmas and stops me being stupid. I do like the idea of a separate account for Christmas tho. I know that people have a fear over these companies now after that other one went bust!
No 3 = I really like this idea! - I need to find myself some tins!
No 4 = We already do this - hubby and I have always put the coppers aside in a bottle or jar. I do seem to have a lot less nowadays!Donna
Economy; careful management; providence. Whether you call it thrifty or frugality it all comes down to getting more for your money.0
