Diddly - you can change your username on Ebay which is what I have had to do with hubby as he found out my account details and went snooping and found out what sold for what and wanted 'his share' and found out what I bought him for his birthday, how much it cost and from who
but you could change your password but then he can still see what you have sold and how much for etc

I just did my shopping on line and i saved about £7 at the end. I think I will start a supermarket savings card instead of a bank account and will put the money saved that trip onto the savers card (up to £5 each time) and do it this way instead if thats ok?
Great minds and all that ZANGELS, I did just this last night at Mr T. Did my shop and had a shiny £1 coin in my change, spotted the savers stamps on my way out the door and bought one. I've never bought them before but thought I'd nothing to loose. Have clipped the book to the fridge with my tesco vouchers so as not to loose it. In future I shall do that at whichever supermarket I happen to be in at the time, any £1 into savers stamps, £2 into the £2 jar and change under 50p in the sealed jar.WW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbsWeight today = 17st 6.5lbsLoss to date 32.5lbs!!!0 -
Oooh, thanks so much for the challenge! And for putting it on a day early, as it gives us an important extra day to get ahead with it
1. THE AIM IS TO MAKE £50 ON EBAY. (after all ebay/paypal fees and postage has been taken into account).
Just before Christmas I sorted out all DS's toys, how can a 3 year old have so much stuff??!! I ended up with 3 bin bags of good quality toys that he has outgrown, so I'm all ready for an Ebay challenge. I'm not expecting much of it to sell well as I would imagine most houses are swamped with toys right now, but I'll give it a whirl anyway.
I have some clothes he has outgrown and also some that I have outgrownso I will pop those on too. I don't think I'll make the full £50 but anything made is extra and this challenge will motivate me to try harder rather than put it off!

2. OPEN A SEPARATE CHRISTMAS SAVINGS ACCOUNT.
I have an old savings account that I haven't used in years. It has £2.52 in so that can be a start to my Christmas savings
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
3.SAVE UPTO £5 WHEN YOU DO YOUR SHOPPING
That's a great idea! I often get buy1get1free and love looking at the bottom bit of the receipt to see how much I saved.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
4. Save for January sales!
I have my tin ready. It's the tin I started last year and then it got packed when we moved house at the end of October and I couldn't find it again in time for this Christmas! So I actually have a bit of a head start with that as it's got quite a bit of change in already :rotfl:. Hopefully I'll not lose it this year!

How you complete the challenge is up to you, be it music magpie, recycle old phones - whatever!!! :beer:
The way you save your money is up to you - It IS your money. I just know that I always saved for Christmas with Park hampers, or Family Hampers or Farepak - whatever gave you the most comission that year. I was one who lost thousands, not just me either. As I was the rep, it was my family and friends who joined just to help me earn a bit of cash for Christmas.
Since then, I wouldn't touch those companies with a barge pole (sorry Diddly), and saving money in the house meant I kept dipping into it. Not good!!! Hence my suggestion for a dedicated bank account - true you can still get your money out, but I think you are less likely to.
Thanks for the advice on opening a bank account through TCB Buffythedebtslayer. I did check through quidco obviously, but the time of morning, plus I wanted to get the challenge up and running meant I never checked TCB. I opened my savings account this time last year with Santander (£20 cash back at the time). I have no book, it's all done online, (I do have an ATM card to withdraw though) and it means I can transfer money easily from one account to the next or set up a Direct Debit and never notice it.
Store saving stamps is a brilliant idea. Thanks to whoever mentioned it, and remember you will still have your Amazon vouchers from Bingoport, and other vouchers (from Toluna and the like) to pay for gifts.
This challenge like mum2one (on the other thread) says - is like a pic n mix - you do what suits you. The aim of the challenge is to give you a bit more motivation. :A
:j:j:jCome on everyone - we CAN do it!!!:j:j:jI :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!
