I too have a poorly laptop (the other one) with some horrid virus on. I thought I'd got rid but it's behaving strangely with websites so I think it's still there. I don't use ebay though so I'm not sure what it was.

    Nightmare

My sister has just had a silly virus, I used avast which is available free and it has sorted hers, it might hepl yours??

some looney went on today and had a i.p.sos for the first time in weeks :)

    Crowdology £4.16
    Pinecone £4.00
    Reward tv £5.00
    Ebay £62.34

Not too bad, i go back to work next week so i won't have as much free time to do surveys, so march's total might be poor.

Savvy - well done. Fingers crossed you get accepted now, although I can't see why not. Boo to your OH. Aren't men rubbish sometimes. :(

Why didn't I get that trial - I want hair dye too. ;)

Thanks Susie - my comp has been playing up the last few days too. I was on ebay at the weekend so I do hope it's not from there. On a positive note, my two things listed have both sold on a BIN. I also redeemed on Iposs, and MYsuurvey today too. Tolunaa jumped up 20,000 points, so I still have 12 open, and I haven't done any surveys whatever today. Need to get my bum in gear, and get to the post office and post these parcels too. ;)

Legend I was thinking about you earlier - remember we were all saying how you'd make a good CM on the bingo? Here's a site to apply. Apparently most are not voluntary as some where advertised in the local job centre. Apply, and see how you get on - I think you'd be good. www.whichcm.com

    Challenge is to follow :D

    Challenge 3 – March 2011

    1. Continue to add the savings from your shopping, into a pot or your savings account – This could be used for Christmas food shopping, or Christmas pressies, winter bills etc. It’s your choice. Also, don’t forget to add the coppers from your purse to your sealed pot for the January sales. (If you have other arrangements that’s fine – don’t worry).

Not money making but money saving – Switch off the tumble drier, as the days are hopefully getting drier, use your washing line – This will save about £30 over the summer, and your clothes will be nicer and fresher too.

Petrol – the prices are going up week upon week. Before you get the empty light, and stop at the first petrol station close by, check www.petrolprices.com for the cheapest petrol in your area. I just checked mine at the highest was 133.9p and the lowest was 123.9p that’s a HUGE difference for the sake of driving a extra half a mile up the road.

    2. Check out the local car boot sales. And get things ready, they will be starting up soon. Indeed some have already if they’re held indoors.

Check www.carbootjunction.co.uk for car boots in your area. Just because you don’t know about it, it doesn’t mean no-one else does. :) Go for it!!! I searched in my area and found four in my area I didn’t know about. :)

    3. If you, like me, enjoy product testing, you could sign up to these sites.

    www.trynewperfumes.com , www.marketetest.co.uk and www.paidproducttesting.co.uk
I’ve signed up to them all, but only this week. I’ve had a scout through MSE for reviews, and people seem to like them, and have been recommending them to others, so hopefully we will get a few more trials, and earn a bit of extra cash too.

    4. Fun challenge – Ebay something that’s broken/not working/has a crack/faulty etc. Anything that you would normally throw away.

There was a lovely thread this week, (sadly I can’t find it now) about people who’s mobile phones, and Nintendo DS’s fell down toilets, in puddles etc, and they listed them on eBay (one fell in a puddle and was damaged by water, as they went to pick it up, a car ran over it. LOL ) and amazingly they still sold for over £60. I’m not saying that’s all you can sell - it could be the teapot that dribbles when you pour it, anything. Something odd or broken that you didn’t think you’d get any money for.

Make sure you put in the listing that it has water damage, cracks, fault’s and photograph it so there’s no comebacks. I know you and I would normally throw these sorts of things away, but list it for spares or repair. :)

Obviously the highest sold amount can’t be the winner, as we don’t all have something expensive to sell. This will be the one that’s in the worst condition to start with, or that we didn’t think would sell – I’ll get DD2 to choose and there will once again be a prize. Woooooo

I know this will obviously cost money to list if it’s something expensive, but if you either wait for a free listing, or start it at 99p, you’ve nothing to lose – because you were possibly going to throw it out anyway. :D

It’s a nice gentle challenge this month. I think we had enough last month. Keep up with the surveys, etc, even little bits, it’s better than none. If you started DooU, and you can just give it another push, even if it’s only so that you get to payout at £20 - that will be a bonus. Don’t feel stressed if you can’t possibly face it – I’m not an ogre – honest.

Can I just take a second to thank everyone on here, whether you are one of the team and pop in regularly, or just every now and again – you’ve all worked together to make this a lovely thread, and I know I for one, appreciate all your help, and support.

:T:T:T:T:T A round of applause for everyone. :T:T:T:T:T

Thanks and Well done from me, and from him :money:

Nice and easyish challenge for this month Elysia. Not sure what I can do for the Ebay thing, cant think of anything off hand as we had a big sort out and chucked all the broken stuff out before Christmas but I will have a look round and see if I can find anything.

We dont have a tumble drier so wont be saving extra money on that but I have started to leave the lights off in doors for longer so that will help.

Boot sales is a good idea if you have something to sell. We only got to two last year (not for selling, just looking round for bargains). Dont think I am going to have enough for one of those at the moment.

Think I will stick with my goal of finishing off Doou this month and hopefully get to another redeem on loonie as well.

Thanks for keeping this thread so interesting, its great how everyone supports each other and spurs us all on with our moneymaking, Rufus xx

We''ve got a broken dyson in the garage that was waiting to go to the tip - I may try and see if it sells for parts ;)

Claireylulu : I am so sorry to hear about your sister. She will have taken great comfort in knowing you were on the end of the phone for her, even if you couldnt be there in person. I hope she is ok. She is very lucky to have a sister who supports her as much as you.

    OK MARCH CHALLENGES:

    1. I dont do the shopping so have altered this challenge slightly.
I am trying to save £250 for a trip to Longleat and Bath in April and I am almost half there :D. Currently have 120 in my piggy bank for it so very happy. Got paid £50 this week for some editing work I did for someones wedding so that helped bring the amount up this month :D. I put all my spare change and the tips I get from the pub in a piggy bank then every so often count it up and change it to notes and then put the notes in the longleat piggy bank. Another notes I get from tips go straight into the longleat piggy bank.

We have to use the tumble drier because of my allergys, otherwise I spend all day sneezing after the clothes have been dried on the line, plus I hate clothes dried that way haha. However I do have a maiden which I use for items that can not be tumble dried so will try and use this for more things.

I always go to the same petrol station, have never in my whole life looked at petrol prices (dont shoot me!). So I think this may be a wise part of the challenge for me to do! I went to sheffield this week to see friends on my own and really felt the cost of the petrol, I am sure it cost twice as much as the last time I went!

    2.
Sooo I never got round to doing any ebay this month.... however I am loving the car boot challenge for March... so I am going to ebay all that I can and get everything ready to do a car boot. Will go to the local indoor one this sunday and see how busy it is and aim to do a stall before the end fo the month.

    3. Do the product testing sites only do cosmetic stuff or do they do foods etc? I have very sensitive skin and am currently battling ezcema (well have been for 10 years!) so am extremely wary of using new products.

    4. Hmm will have to have a look round for a broken item I can try and sell!

Just had a 50p survey on VO on electricity and it says it will be inviting certain people to completed 3 more surveys payung £2 each survey from 4th march, so fingers crossed :D. I am on 4.25 so that would bring be up to another redeem.

Well done skiergirl - a redeem a month is £130 over the year. That's brilliant isn't it? Is that the only survey site you do? See if you can join another one (ask someone to refer you if you can) that way if Toloony is slow, you always have something to fall back on. ;)

Broken Dysons always go well on ebay - my uncle had a business, buying old ones off ebay and doing them up. You never know it may go for more than you expect.

Rufus - I meant to ask. How did all your handmade stuff go when you sold it? Sorry, I'm just wandering whether you thought it was worth your while.

You could always have a sort out, and half of the table could be your craft stuff you've made, and the other side carbooty stuff. It kills two birds with one stone.

Yep nice simple easy challenge this time. Like I said at the bottom, keep up with the other stuff too, but now the weather is turning maybe start to think about car boots rather than ebay - which is especially good for big stuff, which would accrue a high p + p charge.

Giggles - The product tests are a bit 50 - 50. Some are food, crisps, cereals etc. Some are face creams, and hair dye, as you've heard recently. Just sign up, and if you receive something you're not sure about, don't carry out the test - presumably they have some kind of survey you have to fill in to see if you qualify first anyway, so if you mention the excema you might be discounted.

Great to see you happy about the car boot challenge - I haven't done one myself for 18 months, and I sooo need to sort out this house. It'll be great if the weather changes soon. I notice the daffs are flowering in my garden today, so we're getting there.

Elysia - I only sold the one lot lol so far. Would do a stall if I could find someone to do one with me but I wouldnt have enough for a whole stall, and not sure people would want to pay the prices at a car boot, especially where I live, they want everything for 10p lol. Trouble is having someone to take us there as I dont drive and cant get OH to do it as I know he wouldnt be bothered. Cant even get up to take me to have a look round than alone to go early to sell. I am hoping may be my daughter might be able to get me some sales one of these days, she seems so busy at the moment but works in the hospital so knows lots of people. She has a link to my photos on her facebook. May be I want to tell her I will give her a cut lol.
