Legend - don't blame youself, it might have been dry in the school with their heating. I just popped to the shops, and going from cold into hot sent me into a caughing fit too. I have to be careful or it triggers my athsma (excuse my writing, I can't spell today).

Michelle - well done on the MOT. One more crossed off the list.

  • Evening all, hope everyone is alright and getting into the festive spirit!

Not long now Nicky! So excited for you, have you resorted to a vindaloo yet? I tried it when I was pregnant, my taste buds were made of steel during pregnancy and oddly enough dd loves anything flavoursome like curry now lol. Make sure you take it easy, and just in case we miss you before you go into labour, I hope you have an easy and uneventful birth hun. You must be so excited having a Christmas baby xx

Sorry to hear ds is unwell legend, poor thing but if he was desperate to go in he must have been feeling not too bad and agree with Elysia it may be their heating that has made his cough worse.

Well done all money making, slow down michelle, we can barely keep up your like a women on a super moneymaking mission ;) Sorry to hear about tax and mot's, such an expensive time. When I had my tax renewal it was £90 something but when I went to the post office the next day they had increased it £118 which was a shock. When I started to drive I think it was £90 for an entire year and even that felt expensive. Luckily my car wont need doing until April/May but I'm going to use any money made between now and then to help pay for the repairs it will no doubt need.

I ordered from photobox around midnight Sunday and the photo's are here already! Now to get sorting through them I think. I'm really behind too. Still have the christmas cake to bake, amrzipan and ice, mince pies and sausage rolls to make, cards to finish and loads of wrapping! Also salt dough tree decorations and the infamous picture baubles, would you believe we do not own a star shaped cookie cutter? Any ideas where would sell one of these cheaply I would be very grateful.

Dreading town tomorrow! Off to get my hair done first thing so will need to be up at the crack of dawn to get a parking space in town so will get any last minute bits including grandad's other part of his present and then have to go into town on Friday to get the Christmas dinner. Not feeling very festove but that is probably due to the fact I am soooo unorganised, have only been planning it all year!! lol
    Comping wishlist for 2017
    1. Family holiday 2. Christmas presents :rudolf: 3. Fishing stuff

  • Hello hollie. I only joined these ladies part way through the year. I can't wait to have a full year at it and see how I do.

Sounds like you already have a few things going there. Good result on C.

I just did some christmassy salt dough shapes with the kids, so they are cooking now in the oven, and we can paint them tomorrow.

Only getting through all these jobs slowly, but as long as the important ones get done I'll be happy.

Legend - hope Connor feels a bit better tomorrow, its horrible when they get a cough like that. Hope you manage to get the baking done, its something I can't be bothered with these days, no one eats any of it except myself so not much point really.

Hi Hollie - nice to have you joining in, sounds like you are on the right road xx

Savvy - Glad you got the photos in time, that was brilliant service wasnt it.

Sparkley - I dont iron hardly ever. My OH and YD have a habit of just rolling everything up and shoving it in their cupboards and drawers so I just iron when they want something. I have got into the habit of ironing OH's shirt before I go to bed ready for the next morning when he needs one.

Nicky - hope the midwife visit went ok, I remember just a couple of weeks ago going through all this waiting with my Grandson waiting for him to come xx

Bunbun - hope you have a good trip, enjoy seeing your families xx

Emma - good news about the car after all. We are supposed to be getting a new (to us) car in April, FIL has said he will buy one to thank OH for all the help he has given him since his heart attack. Dont worry about looking like you are churning, I am sure there are loads on there doing just that at the moment with this promo. I could do with getting another review on, I was just going through some books this morning to see if there were any I could do that I have read when my SIL rang so it all went out the window but I might have another look in bit.

Hi to every one else too xx

I was amazed up our town this morning, I was expecting it to be really busy but the place was like a ghost town. Dont know what was going on. I got up there at 9.30 and hardly anyone about, we went and had a mince pie and hot chocolate in the local bakers then came out again about 10.30 and still no one about. Went in 99p store which is usually heaving with queues down the aisles and went straight to the till. Very strange!

I wanted to get OH a present from YD as last year I gave her the tenner and she only bought him a can of lynx out of it and spent the rest (there's a few more like her about too lol). Bro wanted to have a look in the Works and I found some stripey scarves in there in a basket, got him a red and white one, was only £3.99. Then got some socks in Peacocks to make it up a bit more.

SIL gave me a bag, they said they had bought me something I might like, when I looked in it (just a carrier bag) it was a salmon wellington. Its quite a big one too, not sure when to cook it for. I already have something in for Xmas dinner (I dont eat meat) so might chuck it in the oven after dinner has cooked and take it to my Dad's for boxing day.

I had another Am voucher ready today from T so they must be trying to get them out to people before xmas. I dont need to use it so I have put it onto my account ready for next year. I have £20 on there still for my Dad (giving him a home made Am voucher) and then I have £31 over. I sat and copied all my spread sheet over to the new one for next year this afternoon so nice to see it already having something on it.

Sorry about the long post xx

Well done Rufus - it's great to be ahead isn't it. I have about £100 worth of paper vouchers, and I would have had the Opolly money but I'm using that for the sales. I need to count up the money in my change pot that we started in January - that's for the sales too. :)

Holly - well done hun. It sounds like you've made a brilliant start. Are you joining in with us next year? If so I can send you a list with some more survey sites on, and also a spreadsheet so you can keep track. :)

Savvy - Make a list, and as you do something cross them off. It feels like you're acheiveing something then. That's great service from Photobox - they were really good when I ordered the calendars for mum last month. How lovely getting your hair done tomorrow. I couldn't get an appointment, so I'll try again before new year. :(

Chel - you must be so excited to see DS again. Does he keep in touch much? My dd would be a nightmare. She went on a school trip to China when she was about 14, and didn't ring home once. I nearly killed her when she got back. :rotfl:

Two reviews posted on Chow today - It's been bloomin hard work though (both appliances so lots of detail). I think I'm going to rate for a bit longer, then I'm logging off, so I'll say good night now.

Fingers crossed baby arrives for you soon Nicky :)
