Well done evryone on your ebay listings, every little helps :)

Done a bit more spending than saving today :( Hit the sales (again) and can safely say the kids are sorted for Christmas and birthdays well and truly now (how organised am I??) Most of it was in the Boots 75% clearance on toys and used my boots points, and only half I may add :D Bought socks and baby grows with a gift voucher I had and Next had a few more items added to their sale (maybe returned items?) so finished clothes shopping for dd for the year too.

Decided to relist the item starting at my minimum price wanted that didn't sell without the buy it now option, after a watcher cheekily sent me a message saying I notice the item didn't sell so can I buy it for half the price you wanted!

Have 41 watchers on one item, and have made a brilliant total to add to my Christmas fund. Thinking I may put it into a christmas food fund as I have sorted alot of the presents already :)

    Hi All,

I have subscribed to this thread and 'next Door' (as Restricted called it) since Xmas, and decided I should un-lurk and say hello! Mainly because I have just reached the magic £50 mark on EBay for this months challenge. Woo Hoo!:j (Not quite reached the £50 profit mark, as EBay have to take their fees :(, but psychologically it's a bit of a boost :j.

I have also squirrelled away some cards, and Xmas cups (to fill with chocolates) at vastly reduced prices. Bought some baubles (75% off) from Paperchase yesterday and a tray (50% off) for my friends birthday present.

I hope to start making some fabric gift bags when the dining room isn't home to my EBay empire! We were in Goa couple of years ago, and lots of shops used bags made from old sari material. I thought this would be a good idea for Xmas. Will post a pic if they turn out ok! (Oh no I have to do it now I've told you :rotfl:).

    Thanks for the inspiration/ motivation.

  • well after a very confusing early hours of the morning ebay experience (thanks Elysia) I slept late, got up, fell asleep on the sofa, and now feel dreadful. I have signed up to Bingoport but can't make head or tail of it, so I'll come back to that later. I've done a couple of polls on toluna but prob still won't have enough points on there to redeem much before christmas 2012!!!!!!!!

But I have got a 99p bid on one of the items I listed (not one of the handbags) and 1 watcher on 2 of the other items.

It's all about starting slow and finishing with a flourish:rotfl:

Hiya House Elf - I'm really, really glad you've de-lurked. Well done with the challenge. Is there just one more thing you could list? You do have another three weeks left - and as you say, you might feel you've actually acheived the whole challenge then instead of most of it. Would that help?

ETA: HE - please show us the bags when you've made them. We'd love to see. My sister goes to Goa next week, I'll have to see if she can bring me one back, so I can have a go at making some too. :)

Savvy - what a cheek some people have - I can't believe the nerve of some people. I have got 39 people watching one of my items now, so you're beating me :D

Stressed Mum - You take care, don't push yourself so much - and book that appointment at the doc's.

    How's everyone else's ebay going?

I do hope I'm helping everyone - and not preaching. I'm just tying to pass on what I learned last year, and trying to keep the motivation going.

I would just like to say that I (and I'm sure, everyone else) think you are FAB and really appreciate your efforts in keeping this thread fun, supportive and full of useful ideas and challenges :D.
This is my 3rd year with the thrifty gifty threads and I think this month has been my best start yet!

I'm off to make dinner then it's DH's night to bath DS and put him to bed. That means I can list Ebay things while I watch the new series of Dancing on Ice, yeay!

  • Hie everyone been busy lately and havent been able to post anything. thanx to everyone who has invited me to survey sites. joined bingo port but i dont think i will be playing i cant seem to understand it. the surveys are going well and i dont mind doing them. was hoping to list things on ebay since its free posting but i think i have about 7 assignements on the go all due before February half time so havent had time. im sure i will eventually get round to ebaying. i will definately be taking part in the challenges when i can because i have loads on this year. its my sons first holy communion in June and am having family round that weekend, he is also going away for three weeks in February/March, i am turning the big 30 in September and would love to have a party of some sort, we will also be going away abroad for Christmas to visit family so i definately need all my pennies saved. Elysia you are doing a wonderful job keeping us motivated and on the right track. everyone here is so friendly and i hope you know that you are all appreciated.

sorry for the long post am off to hit hit the books
