Well I'm back, we didn't get in to the audience of DOI we were only 12 people away
I'm so upset but this obviously means I am supposed to list loads more on ebay tonight :rotfl:
Aiming to completely pay off the credit card in 2012!0 -
stressed.mum, it is easy when you get into it. When im feeling it would stress me to do it I will list things that do not really need much of a description. Things that people who are looking for them would know what they do and look like any way.
You do get in the swing of things.
I just plan out when i will package things and if people have not payed then i cant do it and have to find the time another day.
elysia you really have been a great help on this thread and i really do appreciate it.
I have listed som meor things and have some ending today.
I think i will do my bingo posts while oh is watching football.Savvybunny2009 wrote: »With ebay I like my listings to end on a saturday which gives me the weekend to package things up. I tend to box/envelope everything up and write on the parcel what it is ie D/W would remind me it was a doctor who book etc. Then once they pay I print off the address (or write it on paper) and stick it on the parcel. I recycle boxes from grabbits and deliveries so it works out no more expensive.
If a buyer hasn't paid but you are going to the post office in the next day or so I tend to message them to say that I am popping up to the post office and their item is ready to be sent and awaiting payment.
HTH
Thanks for the replies, this is what I plan to do when I find some ebay stuff. Photo and list, ten pack it up with a label to say what is in there. Then just need to address when sold - is that basically what you do??
Hoping there will be another free listing day later in the year, but to be honest most of my stuff will be [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] treasure that can start at 99pHi,
Can I join this please. I'm already collecting cash back and doing surveys. My main aim is to be money neutral for x mas this year.
HI Deb and welcome, jump right in we're all friendly, this is one of the best challenges I have ever joined

Challenge 1: January 2011.
1. THE AIM IS TO MAKE £50 ON EBAY. (after all ebay/paypal fees and postage has been taken into account).
Have a sort out and see if there's any presents you received that you don't like and can re-gift. If there's something you wouldn't give to your worst enemy. List that.
Have a sort through the kids toys and list anything they haven't played with in a while.
Have a general de-clutter and see what else you can find. You may be amazed. If you've not done eBay before give it a go - it's a bit addictive.
Errrm not this month will put in diary for April when I have sorted stuff to sell
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
2. OPEN A SEPARATE CHRISTMAS SAVINGS ACCOUNT.
If you haven't already, can you open a separate savings account for Christmas money? It will be so much easier for you.
Going into my ISA with my £10/day money, instant access but I hate taking anything out so should keep mitts off:rotfl:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
3.SAVE UPTO £5 WHEN YOU DO YOUR SHOPPING
When you do your shopping, at the bottom of the till receipt it says 'You have saved' sometimes it might say £20 and sometimes if you only go in for a few bits it might say £1.28
Put the amount you have saved into your Christmas savings account - upto a maximum of £5.
For example - if you save £20 - put in £5 and if you save £1.28 put in that.
Have been doing this - just need OH to give me receipt from yesterdays shop
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
4. Save for January sales!
Find a sealed money box, and everytime you come home from shopping, empty your purse of all the coppers (silver too if you want to save more), but make sure you have put the money aside for the challenge above first.
This is not to be opened UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES - this will be opened on the 17th December (a week before Christmas) in readiness for the Sales. :j
Doing sealed pot and £1 a day challenge and £2 so counting those for this
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This seems like a lot, but the hard work is going to be the eBay one. Remember you have a whole month to complete it, so don't rush. Take your time!!!
List a few items a week, and let it run it's course. Then list a few more. This is not a competition who can earn the most - it's a challenge to see if YOU can earn £50 by turning unwanted stuff into money.
[/QUOTE]
Update on how I am doing and feel quite positive - will spend some time this week looking in DD3's bedroom for any bits I can find for ebay,(cos I really want to play now!!!) when she at school cos she is such a hoarder

Susan - Well done on reaching payout with T’luna!! To start with it seems impossible as it’s such a high number of points needed, but it’s far more achievable by doing the opinions and polls, especially when we follow each other tooMaking money for Christmas 2012!0

Freedom - the redeems are done on Thursday - you will get the Amazon voucher through then. Just keep an eye out that it doesn't go in your junk box.
My first batch of ebay has done well. One item unsold but re-listed. Rest of the stuff has made £119.75 so over the chellenge. I still have other stuff to go on (next week when I can get the house straight again). Fingers crossed I will beat last years total of £138.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!
