    Hello all :j
mum2one - sorry to hear about your accident........maybe it's fates way of saying that its time for you to sit back and let someone look after you........so take it easy and do just that. I'm sure your mum and dad will manage ok.............was listening to Paul O'Grady and he summed it all up well I thought...........christmas dinner is just a roast dinner with a paper hat..............lol

Now I'm finally all wrapped up !!!! Foster daughters basket is a lot smaller than foster sons but he's having a lot of odds and ends from our kitchen that she wouldn't want and he and his girlfriend will love. I've popped some money in with her card anyway and made up a cheese board for foster son. Couldn't do it for her as she's allergic to cheese !

    Hope you're all ok:)

You have hit it on the nail, re Paul O'Grady, its the shops that make the money from us.

Those 2 baskets sound lovely. We've just done 2 mini boxes for the 2 eldery neighbours they've got
    mini box cornflakes
    mini crunchy nut cornflakes
    selection 4 mini jams
    mini xmas pud
    box of liquer chocs
4 sets of the flavoured coffee

    - they've both come it at £5 each, so really pleased with that. We're down to about 3 sets of parcels ready to deliever, then there done, Sat, i intend to chill! xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
  • Morning all!

SugarSpun - so glad your kitchen is in!!

    Mum2one!!!!!!! Nooo!!! lol Typical eh?!

Right, all presents wrapped, DD's birthday went really well, decided not to do the frozen cupcakes (will make them in London) and not bothering with extra b'day cake, but FIL wants me to decorate his Xmas cake instead. Off tonight!! So I will take this opportunity to wish you all a VERY Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I probably won't be back on here until around the 5th Jan, so we'll catch up then!

For anyone interested, this is the Xmas cake I decoarted for my parents:

I had lots of comments to make but have forgotten most of them because I was distracted by those gorgeous cakes!

Hope you're out of the sling soon mum2one :grouphug:

So we were allowed to use the kitchen on Saturday, and it turned out that the oven and the induction hob were broken

Monday came around, the workmen came back and although there are 3 power lines in the kitchen they'd put everything (60 amps) onto one line so turning the oven on had blown everything. We have four rings working, the non-induction ones, and the two induction rings will have to be replaced in the new year. The oven is working again now though, and they fixed the fridge door so it isn't frosty in there any more. They didn't re-hang the kitchen or pantry doors and our landlord is completely uninterested.

Still, over two-thirds of the kitchen unpacking is done and then it will be time for Christmas baking!

    Happy holidays all :D

    Hello all :xmassign:

    mum2one - Paul O'Grady's ''its a roast dinner with a paper hat'' - well ours isn't even having a paper hat...............lol

clare - brilliant cakes :T You are clever

sugarspun- we were a few days without an oven or hob........just microwave and chip fryer but that was waiting for electrician to sort a wire out that was hanging down and needed sorting.
Do hope they're are no more hiccups with it.

Well, today I got very festive with mums old pewter bowl and some holly out of the garden..........looks nice if I say so myself. Neighbours pressies all wrapped........she's having chocolates in a whisk with ''wisk you a merry christmas'' label and her girls are having a mug each with choccys.........and ones for chocolate foot scrub, the other cherry chocolate nail polish and they've all got a chocolate lip balm. Think I let them argue about who has which...............lol

Thought I'd get be rid of baskets for foster son and daughter but one is working..........don't know where the other is so I'll have to ring her. We're not here in the morning and don't want to miss her.
So thats about it................I've got my journal covered with fabric ready for next years ''events'' -just need to sort out new year resolutions that I can actually stick to..............lol

    Hope youre all ok:)

Mum2one - thank you and Miss Hoodie, what a lovely surprise.
I dont know when it came as DS picked it up at parcel office and had taken it to uni with him. (he lives there)
We been away on a three week cruise and arrived back Sat. DS has just walked in , it was so thoughtful of you.
Sorry about your accident, you poor thing, if you cant cope all it in the car and come upto me, the more the merrier. I think I`ve gone over the top. I got a £20 turkey crown, £38 beef joint and a £25 Gammon joint....lol theres 4 of us. And I know this sounds silly but I always think the worst and think if someones over blows up or something happens I`ll have enough for everyone...I dont know why its never happened....!!!

Hope you are all well sorry I disappeared but I`m back now and rushing around for Christmas, like you all are I`m sure

Hi Susan, Nice to see you back here again. Sounds like my OH, he has enough meat in the freezer to feed the 5,000 and its only him and YD who eats it as I have fish.

That's how I think about Christmas dinner - sunday roast with a paper hat and a cracker.

Well I'm happy. All the shopping is done, booze on offer bought, veg and some soup ingredients. Didn't go overboard this year with biscuits and crackers but did buy some chunks of nice cheese to have with HM bread a few times for a nice easy meal.

The bath salts are all done and in their jars and last night I made the stuffing which is now in the freezer and the foot scrub which is all parcelled up in the jars. This morning before work I made the cranberry sauce now sitting in the fridge.

Finish work tomrrow lunchtime and then zooming home to do some cleaning and some soup making. Then its onto some present wrapping which I haven't started yet but that will be ok, as have a couple of days left.

Christmas Eve will be cooking and cleaning and present wrapping. still have these to do
    Fudge
    Gammon in cola
    Puddini
    Bread rolls
    More soup
.....that might be it! Unless I decide to make some mince pies and say goodbye to the diet for a week or 2!
