Thank you Nicnax, she was really getting herself worked up as she thought she had not done well in Maths and English and she needed a C or above in both to do her course at level three which is worth the same as 5 a levels if she completes it.

Good luck to her for her course, I recently completed an nvq 3 in childrens care learning and development and really enjoyed it.

Congrats to all receiving exam results last week and this week!

    The chutney made 3 x 250ml jars and 1 x 500ml jars (or 5 x 250ml jars). Total cost (minus jar costs) = 24p per jar
Smelt really nice when it was cooking too. Makes a change as they don't always smell that great when cooking!

Crab apple jelly to start later on today to finish off tomorrow

    Hello all :j
Chilly day............OH not so good today but thinks he overdid it yesterday digging up some spuds in tubs, cooking dinner (sweetcorn fritters etc.) plus think he feels a bit 'out of it' -some plants came this morning I'd ordered, gardener chap was here and he knew about them, did tell OH but he was in hospital at the time so expect he forgot. So think he felt a bit left out..........lots of things like that went on when he wasn't here..........4 months is a long time.
Halfway through sons second wrist warmer but stopped to brush up complaint letter -needed a few bits adding on so it made sense. All done now so get it posted to ICAS tomorrow and they'll send it on for me.

rufus -well done -lovely bracelet:T and exam results brilliant :T

Hope rest of you are ok:)

susan - thanks.........I'll tell him that. He's just had a really bad bout of pain..........in agony he was. Course I got all upset over it and didn't know what to do..........he had some pain relief and seems much better now. They did tell him to expect pain........just didn't tell him how much ! Do they ever! Thankfully youngest son phoned and that got me out of being so upset - just feel so useless and unable to do anything to help. Trying to carry on as normal doesn't seem right but really its the only thing I know how to do to cope..........that or go to pieces and that does OH no good does it.

He's watching footie on tele now..........maybe that'll take his mind off things a bit...........hope so:) Thanks for caring x

Finally got the jelly on the go with 2kg of crab apples - looks like I collected 4kg yesterday as still have the same amount left over!

Spicy crab apple jelly with cinamon sticks and whole cloves added at this point.

    Morning all

Wasw out again yesterday, did a bit more of my Dad's wallpaper, it is getting there. There are some bits I cant reach so I am hoping my sister might be able to do those bits next time she goes.

I have made up the two charm bracelets. The one for YD I am going to get her some more personalised charms nearer Christmas when I have some more money available but I have filled it up for now with some other charms that came.

The photos are a bit dark as the flash didnt go off but you can see them.

    The first one is ED's

Where did you get all the bits and pieces to make these? They are lovely! I'd love to make these for friends for Christmas :)

Looks like I can use the rest of the crab apples and the one remaining bramley apple to concoct some herb jellies - parsley, mint, sage, thyme if all goes well and the jelly forms jelly like rather than rock hard like last time I attempted this

only 4 months until christmas! woo! :)

quite proud of the bday pressie i've done for my friend, it's cost me so little! I had some natural collection candles left over which was on buy 2 get 3 ages ago, so I basically got it free (sort of), a while ago I got a brand new in pack next make-up bag from a car boot sale, cost £8.99 new but got it for 50p!!! And then to fill in the bag (which I got in poundland 2 for £1) I got some celebrations chocolates..a box is half price/£2 in tesco atm...but I won't use them all up will just pop a few as a treat in the bag & save others for possible other pressies! :)
........so overall it's only cost me just a few pounds! more money staying in the bank as savings :D

pretty proud of my little creation! hehe!..x
