Not good news from hospital. Seems OH has one fractured or cracked vertebra and two that have degenrated. Consultant was very thorough......OH had a fair few xrays and blood tests and consultant thinks he can ''mend'' him with some sort of cement to keep the degenrating ones together thats if he can get the funding for it. So, OH has another appt with him in a couple of weeks and might have to have some sort of assessment so consultant can put his case to the trust for the funding. He seems to want it sorted pretty quick.
In the meantime its painkillers, walking frames/crutches and me and OH looking like book ends. Still, could be a lot worse I suppose and I'm trying to get him thinking positive. I never thought I'd walk again but I can now..........not very far but I can and that must prove something.:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

My parcel came today from Superdrug, pleased with it all so off to sort out her hamper and see how it looks. Looks nice out again today so will try to spend some time in the garden, I have some more family squares to embroider for Dad's quilt so can take them out and do them.
Need to get youngest daughter up, she needs to do some school work today ready for next week, her exams start not long after going back.0 -
Hello all :j
OH took himself to the pub for a couple of hours today.........or rather his mate drove him there. Does him good to get out and I'm pleased he actually felt like going out and mixing with people
My turn tomorrow..........cleaner takes me to supermarket and tomorrow I want to go to couple of charity shops as well.........oh how I've missed them..........lol She'll not have much time left for cleaning but a quick hoover round and I'll be happy. She's more use to me at the minute doing the shopping.
Gardening chap getting on well with the garden.
Now need to order more slabs to extend the paved area in the wild life section and try and find a cheapish couple of chairs and a little table to go down there. And need to order new parasol and cushions for the garden bench and chairs.....ho hum........always something.
Hope you're all ok:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Seems to be just me and you Mary at the moment lol, everyone must be out enjoying the weather xx
Forgot to add, my Superdrug order came today so I have done daughter's basket up in the cello wrap and put it away.0 -
I'm here now
Mary - sorry to hear OH had bad news from the hospital. I hope they can mend him as soon as possible.
Rufus - what an organised list! You've done loads, you must be so pleased
If anyone is collecting toilettries for hampers then there are some nice offers in Boots. The No.7 stuff is 3 for 2, I got 3 things for my Mum's birthday next month. Also the Johnsons adult skincare items are buy 2 for £4. This was especially good as I bought the night cream (£4.10ish) and the facial wipes (£4ish) so it was better than buy1get1free. Also, they are doing the £5 vouchers for various skincare again, I remember seeing Olay, Time Delay and Sanctuary facial on the list.Making money for Christmas 2012!0 -
Thanks Nicky, I will have a look in Boots, might be good promotions to buy for my eldest daughter xx0

clare - camping thread, dont think so, i`d be interested if there was on, perhaps we should start one ...lol, what did you want to know??
This is a good site lots of info on it and it costs nothing to join
I go about every three weeks, i love it...
Hi susan - I found this one: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/35696 which is fab, but also spending a lot of time on www.ukcampsite.co.uk - it's fab too!!
I'm currently very obsessed with camping!! The ONLY thing we're (officially... hehe) buying this year is the tent we want when it HOPEFULLY reduces to £200 like it did last year!! WOuld be silly to leave it at that price!! Here it is - it's not bad price now anyway compared to others that size.... http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/kalahari-10-p150788 We'll stick it on the CC (not MSE, but worth it for the price reduction!) and then all other camping stuff (glamping it a bit to make it comfortable for OH!) will be bought with money raised from groupon, Avon, jewellery selling, etc etc later in the year and early next year! But I won't bore you all with camping talk.....it's down to the camping that I've been absent from here.So sorry.
So just popping on to say that I'm thinking of you all, hope you're all really good, and wishing you all a lovley Easter! (We're off to visit the inlaws in London tomorrow night, so won't be online much!)
Thank you to mary and rufus for keeping this thread alive - you regular posters you!! (Sorry to hear about your OH Mary - sounds like the hospital is positive about it though! AND he's getting out and about!)

Thanks Clare, I like to post most days if I can, these threads have been going for a few years now and I hate to see them down the bottom or even on the next page lol. Hope everyone is just having a nice time enjoying the good weather while we have it. I have been in and out of the garden in between doing a few bits on the computer.
I had my last Vista order come today, sorted all my boxes out and labelled what is in them on the outside so I dont have to keep sorting them out. Dont know why I didnt think of that earlier.
Parcel came from a catalogue company earlier addressed to OH. I started to get a bit worried as a few years ago he got hooked on buying things from catalogues and ended up with a HUGE bill that he is still paying off. Thought may be he had got the urge again so texted him to find out what was going on and he said he saw something in the sale that would do for my Christmas present lol so paid for it there and then, not on tick. Thought it must be rubbing off, cant believe he is buying Christmas presents so early lol. He always laughed at me in the past.0 -
Hello all :j
Had a good dayCleaner took me shopping -dropped OH off at the pub till we'd finished......did the supermarket stuff and then went to three charity shops....all close to each other and not far from the supermarket. Not been in since before christmas No bargains sadly but did get some cream wool for foster daughters baby blanket and a needle for sewing up wool........then to chemist to pick up OH's prescription, collect OH then home. By that time there was was no time left for hoovering..............lol But I've booked her for extra hour next week to catch up a bit. With just the two of us its not that bad and I can live with it anyway.
At the minute she's more used to me taking me shopping and stuff than hoovering.
So, both me and OH are smiling..........:):)
Hope you're having a good day:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
