Is there anything to stop you buying exactly what you want before the sale, taking them back a few days into the sale for a refund, then buy back the items if they are reduced to your liking?
I've always tried to do this and keep receipts every year but nothing i've ever bought before xmas has ended up being reduced. It seems to be slightly less popular items that go in the sale.0 -

You won't be able to get a refund and straight away purchase back the items you just handed over, otherwise everyone would do this.
These items will go on a rack, then an assistant will place them back in store.
One thing I used to do is go into Next a couple of days before the sale and look at the back of the price tags, the staff used to write in pencil what looks like a code, but is in fact the sale price, ready for marking down. For example it could say 000499, which means £4.99.
One year I tried to buy something a couple of days early that was going into the sale, and mentioned to the assistant I can't make the sale, so can I can the sale price now as it's marked on the back, she smiled but said no, worth a try though!

A couple of year's ago, DS and I went into Next in December looking for a smart jacket/coat. I asked that if the coat still had the tags and subsequently went in the sale, could I return it and buy it back. The answer was yes, but it was unlikely that this item would be in the sale. Anyway, took it back after Christmas and it had been reduced from £80 to £35. Asked if I could buy it back again and was told yes.
Was sorely tempted to do this afternoon after having gone through the family's list and only 4/5 items being available during my VIP slot. Decided I could not be bothered to buy stuff, schlap it back to my office and then take it back again next week.0 -
Not much left in the sale online to be honest. VIP slots have ment most of the good stuff has gone. I had a vip slot and was on at 6am this morning and most of the things on my list were sold out. Gutted!!! Live 40 miles away from my nearest Next store and have lots of snow so dont think i am going to be able to get near a store to get an item i really really wanted. Wish i had paid full price for it now

I had a VIP slot yesterday evening and even then in my son's size there was just one page of his size, of which he only liked 4 things, 2 of which were same top, different colour.
I did do well for my niece seemed to have much more in the younger sizes.:hello:0 -

I start work at 7:00 on the 27th...however I'm sure a 5:00 am visit to Next on the way wouldn't harm any one.0
