My updated version is:
Security Essentials Version: 2.0.657.0
Antimalware Client Version: 3.0.8107.00 -
When I tried to download the new version it comes up Internet Explorer has stopped files downloading. Click here to download the file. When I click download nothing happens. Do I have to uninstall Microsoft Security Essentials and then reinstall it?0

Methinks that you are clicking 'update', which will update the version that you have.Firetastic wrote: »Is the new version Antimalware Client Version 2.1 6805.0?
Are you still asking about Microsoft Security Essentials, MSE?Firetastic wrote: »When I tried to download the new version it comes up Internet Explorer has stopped files downloading. Thanks for the replies folks. MSE scanned the disc and found a couple of trojans and removed/cleaned them. It also removed one which suddenly appeared, when I was looking at EBay of all things.
I still have problems when I am searching via Google though. If I click the blue link, then I get directed to all kinds of rubbish, but if I copy and paste the address into my web browser, then it goes straight to the site which I want - weird!0
