Just wondering how local are the hermes couriers? Do they tend to be in the locality, ie same town (Liverpool )I ordered something from debenenhams,
Site says
11/12/2010 09:53 Courier Received
11/12/2010 04:49 Out For Delivery
10/12/2010 22:54 Processed at Depot
10/12/2010 21:47 Receipt at Depot
So the courier has had it since the 11th, its now 22nd, we didn't even have snow untill friday the 18th, called debs twice just a recorded message so far and no one has ever answered but will try again today
I know we're all in the same boat but this seems weird, I've had deliveries every day since friday when it got snowy from post, dhl etc with no problem

i wouldn't hold your breath.
I've been waiting for a delivery from House of Fraser that was ordered on 5th December and was told this morning that Hermes have told them it will not be delivered before Xmas.
Hermes have had it since 9th December, the snow has been quite minor around Essex, Hertfordshire etc and all the main roads, motorways etc are pretty ok for driving. I drive on M25 every day for work and it's been slow but easily manageable.
Even the side roads have been ok, icy but if you drive appropriately there's been no issues.
Guy from Hermes customer services said there are parcels undelivered from even before mine, so that's going back to November!
House of Fraser are not happy and I must say the woman I've been speaking to today and yesterday seems to have got somewhere with them and they have rung back today to say they are working with the field manager to get it out for me today or tomorrow.
Unfortunately the only way to get action is to really complain, which I have done but in a nice polite way, by email and phone.
It reflects really poorly on big companies such as Debenhams, House of Fraser etc if they use companies who can't meet their demand.
Over two weeks for a parcel to be delivered from Nuneaton to Essex is really unacceptable!0 -
Don't be surprised if your parcel now suddenly goes 'missing'.
Hermes were under a lot of pressure from House of Fraser to get my order out to me as they have had it at their depot for 15 days now.
Depsite the Field Manager promising yesterday they had it out for delivery yesterday evening or this morning, it has now apprantly disappeared?!
Hmmm?0 -
I called hermes this morning and was very annoyed, they said they'd track it with the courier, about two minutes ago went to get the milk and low and behold a little note says parcel behind bin. Good job they didn't knock I was ready to give them a telling off!
Basically local courier has had it in their possession since 11th dec, but not bothered to deliver and there was no snow here until the 18th! At least its here now though0 -
On another note my Hermes delivery which was sent by ASOS was left out by the bins whilst I was away for Christmas. A Michael Kors watch is now on a dustbin heap somewhere! Very annoyed. Do not trust this delivery service one bit.
Would just like to add that having informed ASOS about this last night and consulting them today on Twitter, a replacement is being sent out and delivered tomorrow so truly remarkable customer service. However I have been told to leave a note on my door to say 'do not leave package by bins'.0 -
our area has one main courier and a back up, both are excellent, the main one lives on our estate and comes before school time each time, as she knows we will be in. the other comes at different times, only problem we have had with her is the bag sometimes smells of smoke but nothing inside smells. normally everything comes the day after its dispatched, have seen many bad reviews from this company but we can only praise them.0

I think its hit and miss with Hermes. I have had some really lovely couriers who know when Im in and deliver then - couldnt fault the ladies! Then when I moved I had a hopeless one - it seems to be down to the individual courier.0

I don't know a lot about Hermes but there have been massive backlogs at pretty much all delivery depots since late november, it doesn't matter that your area in particular didn't get snow until a particular time, it only takes a few of it's depots to be closed or a few days of it's own deliveries to be affected because of it for things to start getting backed-up around Christmas. Tracking websites won't track anything properly if your parcel is in a backlog as it won't get scanned.0

I know , it wasnt at the depot though - it was at the local courier, ie their home! They have just not bothered to pop out with it, although it appeared within an hour of me complaining!0
