1.2 3door corsa for two 22 yr olds costs £1300 a yr! Do you think I'm lying!? Another 6 months in my contract and another yr in OH's0

Of course I spend a fortune on unecessary things. But the new year will see me cut back and spend max £150 on groceries and anything else!0

Spending diary is an excellent idea as is a menu planner. Then you only need to buy the ingredients on your shopping list and NOTHING extra. Check out the OS board for further help. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

You really need to think of an alternative to the car, which is costing c£2k per year plus servicing etc which you haven't allowed anything for. Your OH is "not keen" on getting a moped - when you are getting further into debt because your outgoings exceed your income "not keen" doesn't come into it I'm afraid.0

I admit £250 for groceries is a HUGE amount. I spend on average £200 a month for 3 people plus 4 pets.
Lowering to £150 would mean you pretty much break even.
Getting paid weekly shouldn't be an issue (I find it helps with food budgeting), just get a spread sheet... put your incomings, and your outgoings onto the spreadsheet each month. Whatever the total is how much you have in your bank. No matter what the bank balance is!
Go to the OS board and join the grocery challange.

Well done for posting on here.We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240 -

My OH had to get rid of his car this year and get a 125cc bike - it's saved a fortune. Tax is £15 yearly, insurance was about £300 a year and it runs on about £10 petrol a fortnight. Seriously consider it or you'll not be able to get ahead. No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

Monthly Expense Details

Is that assuming they get a job that pays 1500 per month or do they have one lined up?0 -
assuming. but the course hes doing its 'almost' guaranteed he will get a job. 90% of people who do his degree get a job lined up BEFORE theyve finished!0
