Metro Bank Online Banking Website Much Improved!

Metrobank has updated its online banking website. It now looks a whole lot more professional - font sizes are smaller and it generally looks much slicker - as well as much faster to load.
I have been with Metro Bank now for a couple of months. No overseas experience yet, but I am still a very happy customer. I recently rang to ask them to set up a savings account for me (dreadful interest rates I know, but I wanted somewhere I could put some money out of the way for a couple of months). My request was dealt with over the phone - it felt very personal and I liked the way i was talking to the guy who was setting it up for me.

I agree. The site looks better and, as you say, it's much faster. They're getting there.
Oh, and I used my debit card on Saturday to get some euros from a cash machine in Berlin, and got 1.183 to the pound. Brilliant.0 -
It's usable but still very basic however this is puzzling me:
Date | Description | Money Out | Money In | Current Balance
12 DEC 2010 | Inward Payment | £0.00 | £10.00 | £20.00
I paid £10 into my new account but my balance is £20. (Overdraft = £500)
It appears Metro bank can't do basic maths?0 -
It does look better, but for some reason I can no longer access it from work, which is rather annoying. It lets me log in but then just shows a blank screen.
I've used it in Italy, Germany and the USA now - very handy.
If they could sort out outgoing Faster Payments, Mastercard SecureCode, and not getting the card declined occasionally, I might be tempted to use them as my main account.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

I have read this about several online banking sites. I am wondering what else people expect to be able to do online. I have used N&P, Co-op, smile, LloydsTSB, CitiBank, Cahoot amongst others and there is little to choose between them.
Metro Bank's online service lets you see your account transactions and statements, setup transfers, bill payments and standing orders, see and cancel your direct debits, send and receive messages from the bank. What else is there? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
scgf - don't get me wrong. Everything one needs from online banking is there but the website looks like it was made as a part of someone's school project rather than by a bank who would have paid someone to do a good job (design wise).
Not complaining though as long as it's secure and especially because they are less than 1 year old! MB are showing signs of improvement. It is missing things like being able to sort transactions and the layout is a bit cluttered but those are just details.0 -

The more complicated you make a website the harder it is for users to use it.
Having taught people to do various things on the web, it's surprising how many people get confused by having menus in more than one location.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)0 -
excellent service
transactions update much faster than other banks and states exact time you used your debit card
exchange rate is good also and no using abroad transactions
fast too
Just needs Mastercard Securecode and Faster Payments0 -
Thinking of signing up as a replacement to my Nationwide Flex. Anything bad so far?0

In my experience, only what's been mentioned already on this thread - no outgoing faster payments, no MasterCard SecureCode (so cannot be used for online payment with many sites) and the tendency to occasionally get the card declined. I understand that the latter is not generally MetroBank's fault, but it's frustrating not to know in advance if the card will be accepted if it's somewhere you've never shopped before.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
