Thanks make up. I DO like this workplace and my deputy has a great social life and no kids and shes a decade older than me so they're not all like that, just the majority have a burning desire to be settled and Im all about what's next. The old place was just much more full of fun folk! :jI'll see most of my old colleagues on Monday night and the ones who cant make it have asked me round on Friday for drinks. :beer:Need to see if I can get a ticket for my friends show on Thursday first but if I can thats a plan!
This week looks like this so far:
Tonight: Catch up with gays and hopefully give my friends old freezer a new home.
Monday: Drinks with colleagues from last job
Thursday: See my friend in her college show (need to get a ticket)
Friday: Drinks at more colleagues from last jobs house.
Saturday/Sunday/Monday: Off work so will probably have friends for dinner a night/go out/go to mum and dads
On top of this I need to squeeze a date in and hopefully see my bro so it's business as usual here.
SOOOO glad to have been paid so I can get back out there and see some like minded folk and have some fun.
Will keep you posted re the freezer. I was meant to get it last week but it wouldn't fit in my mates car so going to try to sort that today. It would REALLY help me to eat well and keep my costs down. My food spend last month was a stonking £77.40. I need to get back on track with this and eat more healthily this month.'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
Loving the social life

I get on OK with people I work with, and many ex colleagues I now count as friends, but I always feel a bit of an outsider as I am a bit of a loner and reasonably quiet.
I know you have gone over your food budget for the month but there are some that spend that in a week  I have a freezer heaving with home cooked meals, my challenge is to make sure I take something out of it before I go to work. If only I was a morning person I am sure this would happen :rotfl::j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
Thanks Souk, I get what you mean now - totally agree. My aim has never been to settle down - I *did* always aim to have my own bricks and mortar that I owned, from my mid-20s, but I've never had any hesitation in renting out the place I own to go do something else - one way or another, I've done that 3 times, and I'm looking forward to doing it again in a few years, probably for longer - along with Lula, I've go the idea of a motorised boat in my head. I can just see me trolling about the rivers having a play

Hi lovelies, yep much better.
I have a freezer :j:j:j
My house is tidy and clean and I have put in an online order for some storecupboard bits and some meat for my freezer!!! My lovely mum has also offered to give me £50 to help me fill it :j This is great as I can go to the butchers/lovely fish man and also she wants me to get some bits from M and S for it. Dont mind if I do!
Sooo excited. Wont do the grocery challenge this month properly as I'll have this extra money for food but will still be keeping food spends low from my money as sooo much on.
Shop was very busy today and I suspect it to be the same tomorrow so off to do skincare and head to bed. X'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
Isn't it strange to be so happy about a freezer!! When I got my freecycled one, I was sooo pleased. It meant I could cook in larger quantities and just freeze extras. The remembering to take things out is still a bit of a problem though.

Thanks all, tis truly fabulous! Asda come tomorrow with my storecupboard bits and I'll add up my grocery spends/freezer spends after that. I am contemplating putting a freezer purse inside my groceries purse...but even I'm not that geeky :rotfl:
Had a lovely start to the week. Went out to an Indian with old colleagues last night and it was fab. Much money spent (approx £37) which I hadn't thought would be needed as I thought we were just drinking but I had it and it was grand.
My bro came for tea tonight. It was ages since I had seen him and we had a lovely M and S Dine in with salmon and veg/vanilla and raspberry things/wine.
Got my ticket for my friends show today and also got plans for dinner at a friends on Friday and Saturday so busy, busy. Going to forgoe the date this week as I just cant fit it in as tomorrow is my only night off and I want to fester and wait in for my Asda delivery and watch the Apprentice. Doesnt make me a bad person :rotfl:'The road to a friends house is never long'0
