Thanks all, mums had a chronic illness for over 10 years. She's normally okay but it does have it's moments. Just called her at the hospital and she's not sounding great so I'll wait til tomorrow to visit when hopefully she'll be feeling better. She's a trooper but with so many blips over the years I sometimes have had to make myself stay away until she's a bit better, to stop me from turning into a total nervous wreck and always thinking the end is nigh when it's all really a part of the big picture of her helath IYSWIM.

Mags, just a theory myself and a few friends have re diet drinks. I hate the taste of diet anything and hate that it sometimes comes automaticaly when you get takeaway etc!

Away to watch Lorraine and get brekkie. Back later X

I love Diet Coke! Used to be addicted to it though and have up to 4 cans a day! In the past four weeks I've only had one can and that was only because my Mum bought them in especially, theres a big bottle in the fridge and I'm no even bothered about having any! Used to like diet irn-bru too but that stupid sugar free advert annoys me.

Hope your Mum's ok, you know best what is the best approach that works with you. Enjoyed reading the hangover cures. My DS swears by Lilt that has been allowed to go flat, followed by bacon butty.

    hi Souk

hope your mum's feeling better and that you're not too stressed.

I hate diet anything too, aspartame just tastes wrong... and when doing bar work I never understood why people got so fussy over the diet pop while chucking, er, full calorie alcohol in it. But then I also hate Coke lol. Don't really like most fizzy pop. Bacon butties, however... any excuse should be used :D

Right, Mums still not good but doesn't want visitors so have to carry on as normal for now. :(

I have known for a while that I fritter a lot of cash away, and I know that I need a life but I opened a Direct Saver account over a month ago and it still only has the princely sum of £1 in it so think I am going to start using that to squirrel away some June money. This is because my sis is over in June and I am also going to a wedding then. I stop paying £46 to my optician for my specs from next month as they are now paid off so this money can go in here and I am also going to start PADDING to it as well. Have never done this before but think I need to start! After June it can be extra for my holidays in August and then savings for my bday week.

My piggy in the house, which was previously known as my cultural fund has never yet been used for owt cultural so I am going to pay any money in it into this fund too and I will update these totals weekly.

I need a plan as I feel I dont do very well with my cash in comparison to most on here...mind I do have a wildly exciting social life :j so I guess you cant do everything!

I saw the bank yesterday re consolidating my loan and overdraft into one to stop me spending the overdraft one every month and never reducing it. These together will still cost me £80 a month but at least I'll be reducing it.
Also saw the lovley Little Boots yesterday. Ace to meet an MSE lady locally and she has seen lots of exciting places too so we had lots to talk about!

Bro is round for tea tonight so need to head out to buy some food. Back later X

Yippee to that. I'm just getting organised to start doing a payment a day to my little spending fund!
