An update..12 months on...... the nightmare with this company continues! I have been trying to ensure that RSA e choice will not automatically continue my policy when it ends on 21/12/11... I did not want to be stung with the costs of the 0844 number so therefore emailed them asking simply for confirmation that they wouldnt automatically renew my policy and charge me (as some companies do). I was then sent a reply which didn't even attempt to answer my question and instead directed me to ring! I then sent a rather angry email reply and was told to provide my mobile phone number for them to call me to speak to me. I did so... 3 days on and I havent heard a peep from them. I have found a cheaper alternative elsewhere.... I am still not able to log on and check ANYTHING about my policy... I haven't seen my online policy ONCE since I took out my insurance with them due to this computer glitch that was never resolved... I am simply astonished by the poor service I have received from the outset with RSA e choice. I would rather pay twice the amount and go elsewhere (not funny really as I paid twice initially due to their dodgy website)... This is literally the worst experience I have had with any company of any type in my life and that is no exaggeration. They leave me with a slightly sick feeling in the pit of my stomach!0

Have just got quotes from two comparison sites: this Company was the cheapest and it looked a decent deal otherwise. It seems they're attracting people with a competitive price - but the service is poor. A decrepit website (I haven't tried it myself) and premium-rate number are quite enough to put me off!

Well I can finally say I have now successfully ended my ordeal... or at least I hope so! I have been assured on the phone that they will not debit my account or renew my insurance when it expires in a weeks time. I have such little faith in this company though that I am bracing myself for more drama! Oh and GET THIS.... they sent me a letter telling me it will cost £25 cancellation fee to cancel my policy with them (although the chap on the phone claimed that they will not actually charge me as the policy is coming to the end of it's 12 months).... If I do get charged I will make it common knowledge on here and other websites before contacting the Ombudsman!

I had a nightmare time with them last year on taking up the insurance, and that was just getting hold of the certificate.
This year nothing has changed. Its impossible getting any proof from them of the terms and conditions of policy renewal. The website is still broke a year on and you cannot download the pdf files because the links are duff.
This is VERY dangerous in the event of a claim if we are unable to have written proof of policy documents/certificates/small print etc. It's also illegal not to provide these written details. It's the only protection we have. They have promised over the phone to send stuff, never did. To fix things, never did. And the classic was "Oh don't worry anyway because you are still insured"!! A promise is a comfort to a fool. GET IT IN WRITING.
Customer service is next to useless, even at management level. Oh, apart from the fact they ALWAYS manage to take your money on time and without a fuss.
You just know making a claim would be an even worse nightmare.
Price isnt everything. If you cannot even get hold of your documents GO ELSEWHERE you have been warned.0 -
I agree with you! It is comforting to know I am not the only person to have had big problems with this bunch of cowboys... How on earth can they stay in business operating like they do? :mad:0

i took out fully comprehensive insurance with echoice in october 2011
and it seems echoice definition of fully comp and everyone else is vastly different
to summerise:
Foreign Use Excluded - please contact us if you require this
NCD Protection Excluded
Legal Excluded
Temporary Hire Car Excluded
Windscreen Excluded
Breakdown Excluded
Travel Accident Plan Excluded
Emergency Care Excluded
In Car Entertainment Excluded
driving other cars YEP YOU GUESSED IT NO FRACKING WAY
of course they forgot to mention a few other things like:
customer service excluded
a working website for an internet based policy....excluded
doing anything to policy free of charge ,,,excluded
this will be the first and very last time i deal with this poor excuse for a business
go elsewhere guys and get foriegn travel free,contact and support free,driving other cars free,and thats with 3rd party policies
or get windscreens etc free with other fully comps0 -
I'm with CSIS, underwritten by the RSA.
Everything is included (apart from breakdown, which I don't want).
No problem with CSIS customer service either.0 -
I have just taken out a car insurance with RSAechoice and despite having a schedule of DD payments, they took the 1st one 2 weeks before it was due. They will not explain online why they did this for "privacy policy" reasons, so there is not option but to make an expensive 0844 telephone call and listen to all the rubbish being spouted, taking about 5 minutes, before you can get to talk to someone. They are rubbish. Never use them again.0

I write this comment on the verge of a nervous breakdown having to deal with echoice car insurance. I am still trying to resolve my issues so all is not good.
PLEASE DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE FOR INSURANCE!
MY WIFE STILL CANNOT WORK DUE TO ECHOICE NOT PROVIDING HER BUSINESS CERTIFICATE. HER POLICY STARTED ON THE 1ST FEB 2012.
I PAID FOR HERS AND MINE ON THE 17TH JAN AND STILL NO DOCUMENTS. I CANT BEGIN TO TELL YOU HOW PATHETIC THE COMPANY IS, I GET UPSET EACH TIME I THINK ABOUT IT.
IF ANYONE INSURES THEM SELVES WITH ECHOICE AFTER READING THIS COMMENT YOU DESERVE ALL YOU GET. GOD KNOWS WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF WE HAVE TO CLAIM I MAY HAVE TO LEAVE THE CARS AT HOME FOR 12 MONTHS UNTIL WE INSURE WITH SOMEONE ELSE.
PLEASE PLEASE DON'T SPEND MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!!!
IM ASHAMED TO BE BRITISH AFTER DEALING WITH THEM AND THEIR STAFF ARE A DISGRACE.
