we always cook the gammon on Christmas Eve with egg and chips, then we've got it ready to serve on Christmas Day. My gran always comes up for her dinner at Christmas, but doesn't eat poultry or much red meat, and we usually have goose/beef/turkey so we need to do the gammon for her and doing it the day before means one fewer thing to worry about on the day! And I like to have a gammon & pickle roll for brunch on Christmas Day :D
  • Normally we have take-away but i think we are going to have chicken fajitas this year. Fairly light but very tasty. I usually find I don't want to eat much Christmas Eve as I have been in the kitchen all day preping and baking etc.

go to my parents for christmas eve dinner - bit of a tradition we started when children where younger - went to a restuarant a couple of years but kids stuffed there meals down and wanted to go within about 40 mins !! to get back and get to bed
so we adjourned to the parentals and it became a bit more relaxed and enjoyable but also the children are older now - we tend to go to the cinema or bowling in the afternoon

  • We have the full Christmas meal xmas eve with family. Then on Christmas day it's leftovers with pickles and chips. Less stress!!!!!!!!!!!
  • We normally have a buffet tea which we pick at before and after the local church's carol service but this year we are having a Chinese takeaway instead...we fancy a change, and haven't had Chinese for months!

The kids reckon we're having pick 'n' mix...

Probably be the above with a buffet.
