Hi Muffin,
I am a newbie so please excuse my ignorance but i have read that you pay a payment a day to your CC- How do you manage this?? Do you pay any cash you have spare?? Is it paid on line?? i only pay the minimum and it does not dent the outstanding balance at all (of course) so need as many tips as possible to clear it.05/03/14 £15,980 0n 2 CCs

Hi MummyChicken!
Welcome to the boardsI hope they help you as much as they are me!
With regards to my payment a day sometimes it is as small as £1 (however this all adds up!) I justify the payments by whatever I have the bank (I check online banking everyday) and also if I was going to buy something which would have cost X amount of money and I decide not to I will then use that money to pay off the credit card if that makes sense?
There is a payment a day thread on here somewhere which would be useful to have a read and see how everyone else is doing it too as they may have different ideas
Good Luckxxxxx

Evening all,
Not sure whats going on with MSE, I posted last night however it doesnt seem to be here today? how strange??
Anyway I got a car yesterday! I wrote mine off last month... spent 4 years paying for it and was delighted when I made the last payment in October to then write it off 3 months later - grrrrr!!
Me and Hubby have been good though and we have used ONLY the money we were given from the insurance company, infact the car we bought was £300 less that what we had, altho it needs taxing this month so some of that will go towards that.
Still no bids on ebay but lots of watches! Was writing reviews on dooyoo but gonna have a break today after someone threatened to report me :O (only been a member seen Sunday!) Also booked a table at Pizza express for the hubby and I this weekend, courtesy of our tesco restaurant vouchersits out little valentines treat!
Decided today that I was going to be "organised" however my house looks a blooming mess now, how do i get myself into these situations! Altho I have done quite a bit of shredding and cleared the conservatory and also the kitchen table come dumping ground!
I have also bought a couple of folders and organised my uni lecture notes and car documents etc - Just need to find a space now to store all these folders!
Anyway how is everyone? xxxLBM AUG 2009 - Debts £20,000+ Debts now 13,582.06:j Seven Debts Paid Off :jSnowballing to pay debts - Muffin V's Catalogue [STRIKE]£1700[/STRIKE] £1480.000 -
Evening!
Not much to say today...
Had a lunch meeting with my ex boss today (exit interview) and realised I had no money so had to take all the silver out the change jar! came to about £13! Anyway when I got there she had already got the drinks in and was paying for lunch! (well the company was!) so bonus! and I realised that today has actually turned into a no spend day, which is rare for me! I have just enough money in the bank to cover a DD tommorow and then the fun starts again on Friday as its hubbys pay day! Finally got a bid on one of my items on ebay, only at 99p but there is 6 watches so watch this space!
Desperatley trying to sell a brand new wedding dress and struggling! have posted over in weddings for advice on sale sites!
Think thats all 4 now
Bye 4 now xxLBM AUG 2009 - Debts £20,000+ Debts now 13,582.06:j Seven Debts Paid Off :jSnowballing to pay debts - Muffin V's Catalogue [STRIKE]£1700[/STRIKE] £1480.000 -
Hello!
How's everyone doing this weekend? I am feeling quite stressed today, you know when you want EVERYTHING but can't have anything??? Im in one of them moodsAlso feeling abit down about the debt busting... it just seems to be taking aggeesss! and nothing seems to be going down if that makes sense?
Ive started to spring clean my house today, particularly the spare room as we want to prep it ready to decorate for baby in May, but starting this as just highlight to me how much stuff needs doing around the house! Hubby has done one run to the tip and I have also filled the wheelie bin but there is still junk ALL OVER! So now I am in my... I want a bigger house mood which I know isn't an option, and I am generally just feeling very mardy lol
On a positive note me and hubby had a valentines meal out yesterday and used our tesco vouchers to pay for it so that was OK, I am also still getting sorted with the birthdays and Christmas, Im hoping to have everything bought for the year before baby arrives and so far its looking good! Keep checking the thrifty board and the grabbit boards!
Ive completed my Maternity Allowance application this weekend so going to send that off tommorow! Also got some items on ebay and also had some things finished this weekend so made about £20 - not a lot admittedly but still better than nothing! and got some other things to list that I have found during the de clutter!
Well sorry for my moaning, I suppose I should be looking at what I do have rather than what I dont and being greatful for thatxxx

Moaning is always allowed hun! Especially now you're married, it comes with the territory!
And you can always blame pregnancy hormones if you calm down and realise you went to far!
I know what you mean though about the house thing. We currently live in a one bed maisonette and the aim for this year (alongside every thing else!) was to be out before my birthday. However, we're going to have to rent and don't know what to do with ours for the best so this leads to never ending confusion and stress. It didn't help that we went to view a house yesterday and I wanted it straight away! Not going to happen....!
Hopefully a spring clean will cheer you up though as you start to get a bit more organised and find some things for ebaying!
Keep your chin up. xxxWandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0 -
Thanks for the post loumac...
was started to think I was writing to myself for abit there! how you feeling hun? the property market is a night mare! were in a 2 bed so luckily have an extra room for baby but we have no additional rooms or space, its a simple 2 up 2 down house! Ah well - It'll have to be another incentive to get myself debt free
I decided I wanted a netbook for uni rather than my laptop but I have been very good and told hubby that I am not buying one until there has been some progress on these debts, he said I will be waiting ages, but at the end of the day I paid for my wedding straight out and that was around 3000 pounds, I did this in less than six months, so why cant I do that again and blast the credit card? he's obviously not as optimistic as me lol

Your doing brilliantly, I know how you feel about the debts, theres days where I could just shut the door, pack a suitcase, get dd from school and grab the 1st plane, tell my debts where to shove them, my home life - would love my own front dr, love life - whats that.
But the one thing to remember - yes were debt busting, but we still need a life, we need to be pround of ourselves that were tackling everything head on, - but I'm sure we can all have a bad wobble.
Maybe hubby just feels that you bust a gut to do the wedding, and the good news of the baby, maybe in his own way he's trying to take the pressure off you by not letting you set a target date.
Muffin - I hope you don't think I'm being cheeky, but I'd say stick with the laptop for uni, I brought a netbook last yr, (very mse as it was from Open Uni study grant), but find I use it for personal rather than uni use. Find the screen small, great for emails, contacts etc.
You take care xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Hi Mum2one! Thanks for posting
I think you might be right with regards to hubby, although he's never had his LBM but I have managed to get him on board more now -mainly cos I control all the money and he doesnt have a clue what I do or pay or how much we have in the bank, so its easy for him to say dont worry... cos he never does lol
And i dont think you are cheeky at allIm not sure what to do with regards to netbook, my main reason for wanting one is more so i can take it into uni with me, I do take my laptop with me at the mo to get my work done but its just so big and heavy lol saying that though the end of year will be here in no time (may!) so is it even worth it! Ive lugged mine to and from this long, whats 3 more months lol
I have posted my ebay items out today and I have also made a sale on a wedding item that I advertised through a wedding forum rather than ebay - so all in all I have £42 in paypalgot other items ending next weekend too so hopefully will add and then I am going to transfer it over to my bank next week!
