My 2 cats are both from rescue, older girl was approx 6 months when she came to us, she was semi ferral and it took a long long time to gain her trust and she still runs and hides when strangers come round but she is very loving and trusting with us now. My little one was only around 5 weeks when we took her on, she was dumped bless her, I bottle fed her and became her surrogate 'mum' as best I could, she has a very sensitive tummy and often has some problems with it, but she has grown into a beautiful crazy little kitty

Thanks for all your replies, it has been a nice thread to read through. Just to give an update, we have decided to opt for an older cat. We are going to see two older persian cats on Friday, one is nearly two and the other is nearly three. So we are going to see them and hopefully we will be able to give one of them a loving home. We know that having a Persian will entail a lot more grooming and work, we have considered getting a persian before ,and are willing to take that on. Will keep you posted.xx

I got Kitty from preloved shes 3 we think and erm has a daft obsession with chasing air or snow. We are hoping to rehome another cat soon, as Kitty came from a home with 2 cats. I love her to bits and she loves fuss as much as possible other than that she love is eating lol.

My Little Lita (previously posted about) has a congenital defect which means the passages from her eyes to her nose are constantly inflamed to the extent that she has blood discharging from her eyes. Unfortunately ther's nothing that can be done to cure this, just apply drops/cream so she isn't hurting from it.
I forgive her a lot of snappiness due to this. I would be flamin' fed up if I suffered from this too!

To update, I decided to rehome an older cat.We got a beautiful two year old persian.The person selling her no longer wanted her for breeding . (He breeds and shows cats, and when she had her first litter her milk was insubstantial) She is lovely, we have had since Monday and although she is still settling in, she is eating well and seems very content. She absolutely loves being brushed and purrs away when I am grooming her.Will try and put some pictures up at the weekend. Thanks again for all the replies and advice.:)

Here's a pic of her.We have only had her a couple of weeks but she is settling in really well and is so loving. She sleeps on our bed every night and loves being brushed.

we have three cats - two are 14 yr old brothers who were born in our home (their mother was with us too but sadly passed away last year) and one is a 9yr old which we have taken in as the neighbours no longer wanted him and shut up the cat flap he is very happy here now thankfully
