    :(
Sucks reading that, as it just goes to show being a criminal pays, especially if the police cant be bothered to investigate :(
  • Not sure if anyone has checked recently but the rentmac site has been taken down...which is something.

rentmac and rentmeanycar.com websites are still there. I might get them taken down, since the police couldn't be bothered.

Saw the ad as well no small print, I'd avoid.

It wasn't really that difficult to suspect something wasn't quite right.

  • Hi Guys,

Hopefully people will see the site carries no Contact details, so hopefully people wont fall for it....
Am just trying to remember the website address (government/council) which lists scam sites, etc....
Its doubtful they would look into this as its far too sophiscated for anyone from TS or OFT to deal with! :D:D
And that website was setup same time as rentamac, and can be clearly seen to be created in some random persons address! and going via a easy host site!
I'll be watching this a bit more closely!

PremiereVelocity we'd believe you a little more if your website wasn't hidden behind a privacy filter. Which legitimate company uses domain masking to hide the registrants details unless they're operating a scam!!!

What do you have to say about this?

Looks to me like your just another scammer! We can do without the likes of you on these forums!

    Folks

Just to bring this one back up - Rentmac.co.uk and rentmeanycar.com have finally been removed. As far as I know the operators got away with it completely, so this kind of scam will reoccur under new company names. It looks like they got away with 6 figures worth of £ and the police had very little response (I'm not even sure they successfully linked the crime reports together, let alone investigated it properly) so this sort of scam will be low risk, extremely profitable.

118CarHire was this year's scam, another one next year is likely.

Ah! I didn't know about it, passed me by. Just been looking into it - pretty much exactly the same scam. Signs same people behind it too.
