    nah, employees driving employers vehicles with no reason to suspect no insurance cover is a statutory defence. It's in the RTA somewhere

    Yep but for causing or permitting, the employee (who was actually driving without insurance) has a valid defence so it’s not an absolute offence as previously suggested

    RTA s143

    A person charged with using a motor vehicle in contravention of this section shall not be convicted if he proves—

    (a) that the vehicle did not belong to him and was not in his possession under a contract of hiring or of loan,

    (b) that he was using the vehicle in the course of his employment, and

    (c) that he neither knew nor had reason to believe that there was not in force in relation to the vehicle such a policy of insurance or security as is mentioned in subsection (1) above.

    Hold on..... Half of Bradford get away with no car insurance and now your son's in the !!!!!!?

    its what is covered and not what isn't thats important im afraid. tough break i would have made the same assumption as well

    You know sometimes thinks get a little tooo serious on here, I still think Gene is a joke, no, sorry, my mistake, was the subject of a joke. Styder can't explain as others would deem it racist,,
