This post is *very* confusing and I don't understand it all:confused::(

No bargains but between one jonint transaction between me and my grandmother *to go over the limit*, one grandmother transaction, one online points coming through, one transaction all of my own and one total spend coupon *jammy as quite often they take that off the machien when it is a triple points day*, today i earned

an absolute sonking £11.72 worth of points

i am a rather happy advantage_card AND i have my DKNY Be Delicious from the Retail Park so i can smell like a big bowl of apples, lol.

There was a total spend coupon for my hubby today despite triple points (250 points for £30), but not for me. Certainly pays having two cards :D

Combine that with 500 points for £25 baby stuff, plus triple points, and you're laughing! :)
  • sorry if my last post didn't make much sense, i was probably too excitable.

Well i didn't take the coupon out of the machine myself because one i wasn't sure if i woudl go over £30 *the limit they usually have @ Eastgate Centre for total spend, but that branch usually has a way of taking the Total Spend off the screen when it is Triple Points and they would have been adamant that i wouldn't get it* so i went to the xashier and she said she would get someone to look because i went over £34 what with my perfume and all my juice etc. and she came back with two receipts, the first one was just the one stating my online order had come through but then she took something for over £30 and the cashier said she would see if it had scanned and it did, she was impressed and went *oh if you didn't ask for it you wouldn't get!* - now all i would have got @ the Eastgate Centre would have been a moan and a grown to get me the coupon if i was allowed it, sigh. *In General the Retail Park staff seem a happier and more helpful lot, but it is a pain in the neck for me to get out there often*.

I still cannot believe i got over £11 in points just on one day, i think that iso ne of my best pointage days in the seven and a half years the scheme has been going.

What's a total spend coupon? I spent £44 the other day and got my triple points, could I have got something else too?? Annoyingly I forgot I had a double points voucher in my wallet, but I don't know if I could have used it in conjunction with triple points. Please don't tell me I could have!!!
  • Hi Jodun .... I dont think you have lost out ... the DOUBLE points voucher cannot be used in conjunction with other points offers ( although there have been reported cases where one or two people have argued and had extra points added manually ) ...
As already stated they seem to remove the TOTAL SPEND ( extra 250 points on £30 or more spends) coupons from the machines while the triple points promotions are on....

Ah! *Now* I understand, thanks for clarifying :)

I also got to use the total spend coupon yesterday, in fact I used two of them in seperate transactions. Hadn't realised you couldn't. :(
I figure if they give me a coupon, then I can use it. :p
As I now have mobility problems, I generally print out all coupons that I have an interest in and if I can, I use them. If I don't, I bin them. Am thinking of going back again today :D

  • To whomever asked, to get the total spend coupon you put your card into the advantage point kiosk - if you shop has one, not all do which is a shame, and then you can either go through the seperate sections once you go into the *offers* bit and then touch the button that says *total spend*, this should then let you print out a coupon for so many pts or so many extra pts *i cannot remember if the total spend is still extra or not - all the others are not just so many pts, not so many extra, but i think the total spend may still be extra*, or go to view all offers and scroll through it until you find a coupon for so many pts or so many extra pts when you spend so much on qualifying products, sometimes it's £25 sometime's like just now it is £30 - however i think officially they aren't supposed to offer this coupon when it is triple points anyway and they usually take it off the machine so people cannot get it but i know that the Retail Park can be a bit dozy at times as that was how i got a DVD player for £40 when i should have paid £90 for it *as you had to spend £30 on other items but they didn't notice and i didn't find out until i got home*, i bet the Eastgate Centre one wouldn't have had it on and i would have lost, i think it was just VERY LUCKY that i had Retail Park Branch access on Friday.

As for using a double points coupon on a triple points day, again i am a bit confused. Eastgate Centre INSIST you CAN NOT use the double points coupon when it is triple points but others on this forum have odne and apparently it is pot luck if the cashier at the time or the till at the time will accept it or not - as the Retail Park cashier said *if you don't ask, you don't get!*.

For other mailed-out coupons i think the policy is that you CAN use them but if they are for so many pts then those will not be tripled, as i thought you couldn't use ANY mailed-out coupons on a Triple Points day but one of the Eastgate Centre cashiers said yes i could - so i used a no.7 coupon i had on wednesday but didn't incorporate in a spend to go over £15 as i knew they couldn't triple the coupon'd points.

it gets VERY confusing knowing what you can and cannot do @ Boots!
