  • Yup - all three count towards the total, so you get the bonus points even though one is free. I went back and bought another lot the following week and it still worked.

Boots No 7 pink - summer - items were reduced in my local store today, about 30% off. The travel skincare was £10 instead of £15 and the pink organiser was £12 instead of £18 so I got both, got a free pink bag and contents and remembered to use the 200 points voucher from the magazine and the 250 points from the last pink bag I got. I also got a £10 electrical items voucher so I got some Nicky Clarke tongs for £4.99. Not a bad day!

Hi...Haven't logged on the site for ages...however, was very interested in the Boots Thread as I've worked for Boots on a Freelance basis for the last year or so.

If you have a complaint please do address it to the Chief Exec, Richard Baker, because in my experience, his changes are bad for the customer as Customer Service is at an all time low and staff are having to cope with very little back up from head office. The staff bonuses used to be based on a mix of Mystery Shopper results and Profits. Now they are based solely on profits, so staff have no incentive to go out of their way to help you. Also, as staff are leaving, they are not being replaced, hence the massive queue's you encounter when you shop at Boots. Also, please bear in mind that every department has a sales target, so if you want help regarding sun lotion and you ask in the fragrance department, you are unlikely to get the most helpful of response, as your sale won't improve their individual sales figures, plus the fact that you're probably the 35th person that morning to ask them!

The Advantage Point Scheme is, in my opinion, excellent, and I have spent over £250 in the last 2 years in points and currently have nearly £100 built up again. This is not due to working in store. I knew how to get the best from the scheme before I ever worked there! And I don't have any nappies to buy or even anyone else to buy for, only me!

There are no rules or regs that say you can't use a double points voucher at the same time as a triple points weekend, altho some staff refuse to take the double points voucher on those weekends. Basically, the way it works is, if the till lets the member of staff do it, then its allowed. If the till won't let it happen, then its not allowed. So, I have before now, got 5 times the points on purchases on a triple points weekend.

If you lose your card or forget it, the reciept can be validated at the till and the point added on in store, providing you bring your card and the validated receipt into a Boots store within 30 days of the validation. If you do not get your receipt validated, then just phone the number on the back of the receipt. The operator will input the till code on your receipt and will be able to bring up your transaction on their computer and add the appropriate number of points onto your card. There used to be a "key" system where unvalidated receipts could have points manually added at tills instore. However, like all good things, the system was abused and so has been withdrawn.

My mother has had cause to phone the Advantage number on the back of the receipt and found them to be extremely well trained and helpful.

I can't think of anything else to say about the Advantage Card Scheme or offers at Boots that hasn't already been said in this thread. Except, please be nice to the staff and remember that lots of staff in Boots are Visitors and can't use the till, so its no use moaning at them if they look like they're doing nothing and you're in a queue next to an un-manned till!

    Happy Shopping!

Well, I have a slightly unethical bargain, but a bargain all the same. Having ordered an Oral-B electric toothbrush from Amazon (best price I could find), I then went into my local Boots and received one of their £10 off electric goods vouchers. When you did your sums on the toothbrush I had just ordered, Boots came out £5 cheaper with the voucher. So I bought it, intending to cancel the order with Amazon, only to discover I couldn't.

Feeling lazy, I decided to return the Boots toothbrush instead of returning the one to Amazon. However, when in the store last night, I handed over my receipt, and was consequently refunded the full amount of the toothbrush, thereby making £10 into the bargain.

Perhaps someone with better morals would have pointed out the error. Turns out I'm low in the morals department when it comes to big stores like Boots.
It's not just the receiving, it's the sharing of discounts that matter

so thats a free pack of nappies next time i'm broke!! (one of these days i'll get to treat myself with all these points)

I live in London, and would like to warn all Boots customers that buying a product in Central London will sometimes be a little more expensive (around 50p and up to a £1). This adds up, eventually, and is not true of all products, but it is worth being aware that there are a number of stores that add a touch more on certain products without you realising! This may be true of other stores, and not just London, but be aware!

i just did a great shop in boots. i'm having a baby so it's all baby related i'm afraid. still it might be of interest to anyone with a little one. i bought two copies of the march prima baby mag from tesco (using various coupons to get 20 percent off the price). each mag has a voucher for a free pack of newborn huggies nappies at boots. the mag also has a 75p off corsodyl voucher, it scans at tesco where you don't need to buy the product to get the 75p saving on your shopping. there's also £1 off a baby mam toothbrush at boots. if you were buying mam bottles send off for their free teat offer (it's on this forum somewhere!) as the teat comes with a £1 coupon off bottles at boots. also search for the hipp thread to get £10 worth of coupons (although the 50p magazine coupon has expired). one of the hipp coupons is for a free stage 1 jar, others are for 30p+ off various products.

anyway, i spent over £25 to get the free 500 points and they also have a triple points offer for if you're spending over £15 instore. and an electrical beauty voucher if it's any good. i was given 800 points for my transaction. i paid £16.04 cash for it, goods worth £31.26.

i bought 2 packs of huggies newborn, they were on special 2 packs for £6 but my 2 free pack vouchers were credited at the full price of £3.58 each. i'm going to use washable nappies but i've heard that newborn poo stains and the washables might rub at his cord stump to begin with, plus i can't use washables in hospital, i stayed 5 days last time so i reckon that's 2 newborn packs needed.

i bought 4 jars of hipp stage 1 baby food, on special at 54p a jar but with 2 free jar vouchers (i used somebody else's coupon as well as my own) and 2 30p off vouchers it cost me 48p for the 4 jars, not bad - even if i plan to puree my own food it's worth trying the jars at that price.

    £1.95 for baby scissors.

tommee tippee microwave steriliser - normally £19.99. it can be used as a cold water steriliser too, good for weekends away if there's no microwave. it comes with 4 tabs but they're only needed for the cold water method. it includes £15 worth of TT bottles. i plan to breastfeed but i reckon i'll use the steriliser on feeding bowls etc. and toys and the baby might want a bottle for water/juice. the steriliser had £5 off too so was £14.99.

all that stuff was great for £16.04 and i got £8 worth of points for it. higher savings could be achieved if you bought lots of hipp food and used lots of vouchers from the £10 pack, they last for about a year so you could even buy them now if you're still pregnant. you could also buy MAM toothbrushes and bottles and use the coupons if you have them. disposable nappies etc. are on special, either 3 for 2 or a reduced price for 2 packs. lots of johnsons stuff is on 2 for 1 including wipes, shampoo, softwash etc. loads of opportunities to spend £25 on baby stuff. they also sell terry nappies, pins and pants and my boots sell all in one washable nappies and swim nappies in the larger size but they don't sell the smaller size. most bottles, sterilisers and breastpumps seem to be discounted a bit.

sorry for waffling but babies are so expensive and this is a great way to save money lol!
