OOPS TO person avove my last post
There is no time limit on Advantage Card points, you can hold on to them for as long or for as little a time as you like - i tend to mount them up then use them for Xmas presents. You can use them on anything in shop that either has an asterisk beside the price or *pay with points xxxx points* underneath the pricing tag - i think its only prescriptions and infant milks and gift vouchers you cannot redeem against, i think you can now redeem against all other health items as well as all counter brand beauty and your usaly bog standard toiletries, and food and drink *if your branch still stocks this, in Inverness they took the food away from a easy-to-walk-to branch and stuck the Meal Deals etc. only in a Retail Park branch which is a pain in the backside to get to for me.
You will be able to use the Advantage Card machine once you have a proper card with a chip in it - just put the card, chip side up into the machine, then it will come up with options to either change your details, look at offers etc. - this gives you the best way to mount up poitns but i find it difficult to see and difficult to find members of staff on the shop floor @ the easy-to-walk-to branch to help me so i find i miss out unless i have a relation - what offers you get is tailored to your gender, age group, spending patterns etc.
Yes as long as you haven't ticked the no mailshots* box on your application form you will get periodically sent information and coupons in the mail, but these will be tailored depending on how much you have spent over the last while leading up to the coupon distirbution and what you have used it, although this doesn't always apply, i got sent a coupon for the kodak digital camera kiosk yet as i cannot see right i cannot use a digital camera - also they sent coupons for TWO food-related items despite finding it difficult to get to the food-selling branch, so it doesn't always work like that.
hth a little anyway - from a boots *novice* lol.my advantage_card is like gold dush0 -
Do Boots do pricematching now, then, Fluffyscruffy? If so, can you tell me where you saw / read about this so that I can go to my local store, already armed with the information that they will insist upon having.
If it is NOT a general offer, and something you just tried on the offchance (& were lucky!), then GOOD ON YER! If maybe enough of us pluck up the courage to follow suit, we can convince Boots that it's a good idea.If it's cheap, I'm cheerful!0 -
Boots used to pricematch when I had a saturday job there, but it was a few years ago :rolleyes:Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

hi,frogling, thanks for your advice, i did just that, but first i got my vouchers out of the machine, and this is what i got.
mascara 9.00
eye gel 7.50
making a total of 16.50. i got my bag of no.7 products worth 25.00,
gave my 5.00 off coupon, so it came to 11.50. i got 200 extra points for buying the mascara.
then 50 points for spending over 7.50 and finally i got another 5.00 off voucher.and finally finally in the free makeup bag there's another voucher for 250 points with any no.7 skincare.
wow is that good or what?0 -

Question for everyone...
I've just received my boots advantage card through the post, and attached to the bottom of the letter is a coupon that says it gives me double points on two occasions up until 30/6/05. My question is, does anyone know if they will accept them during one of their triple points weeks? (So I get 6x points!!!) The terms and conditions do not really say either way.
Thanks.0 -

And the best thing is, when you use your £5 voucher, if you get, say the skin wipes at £6, and use your 250 extra points voucher, they'll be effectively paying you 150 points to get free skin wipes. (although you have to give them one pound cash, unfortunately).
I did this, and luckily the first time, the girl said the 250 points voucher was mine to keep and use again...
...So i did!
yeay!0
