Hello all...thanks for popping in! Nice to see friendly 'faces' and new ones.
Not sure what to do today with the snow! We go to MIL's for tea on sundays but we are worried her kill will be too icy. DD2 is still unwell but perkier in the day and she is meant to go to a party at 2pm at an indoor play area. Will save fuel if we don't do either of these! But will have to feed ourselves dinner! lol
Finished my 2011 calendar last night! Is it very odd that i LOVE writing up a new calendar!!! I love diaries as well!
Want to perhaps research some different soup recipes to make for my 101 challenge - Make 5 different soups from scratch!
Need to get the kids stocking wrapped too. I went into my room yesterday to find 2 little feet stuck out from under the bed!!! DD2 searching for presents! I am worried sick she will find her stocking stuff and then what do i do!!
Today i plan to look through the cupboards and make a meal plan for next week to make the most of what we have. Our freezer is quite full.
Need a good plan for food in the new year - my dress fitting is March 26th! So any weight i lose needs to be before then! I plan on losing a stone at minimum which would make me happy

LK I have a couple of soup recipes I love which I could post the links/recipes later if you like?
Ones I make are:
carrot & corriander x2 (one with a twist)
pea & mint (my absolute fave ATM)
chicken soup - with or without noodles/pasta - I do this after we've had roast chicken - use carcus to make stock & scraps of chicken
tomato
butternut squash - I stocked up on these when they were on offer at lidls as they last for ages if stored properly.
Let me know nd I'll post this evening for you mon cherrie
just off to go to the gym and sign up....DF as at 30/12/16

i have bought my 2011 diary, need to sort it out! dont think its sad you enjoy it, i intend to spend an afternoon over xmas hols and fill mine in, currently rely on facebook for birthdays which is hit and miss!:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -
I am a big fan of diaries too, hoping I have a new one for Christmas.
Bless your DD searching for pressies. I only have OH to worry about at the moment, and his have all been wrapped so he can't see them!0 -
Evening all!!
DD2 getting over her illness but has a red raw nose from it running so much and she has no energy
Made it up to MIL's last night so got dinner made for us! I have finished the last items of shopping today. I bought my stepmum some perfume and OH bought his sons phone so all sorted! Last couple of bits to wrap tonight and then just stockings.
Oh and DD1's desk hasn't arrived. The delivery driver wasn't able to get to us on friday or today with all the snow! So if it comes to it she will have to have a picture of it to open on the day!
I have eye test tomorrow morning - my first one. I so want to get it done so i can cross it off my 101 list but at the same time OH will drop me in but i will have to get the bus home. This means money for the bus and trusting a bus driver with the ice! It is meant to be freezing overnight!!! So thinking i may reschedule it!
Butternut squash soup recipe please DNMS! :j:j:j Can i make it in a slow cooker?
Right off to make a list of all food we have in stock so i can work out a meal plan for the next few nights. Tuna pasta bake tonight to use up pasta and the garlic bread in the fridge!

ok just braved the recipe draw -I have a gazillion sheets of paper in there, think I'm going to have to sort it out! -
anyway....
Butternut soup:
1/2 BNS
1/2 onion, sliced
1 clove garlic
2tbsp olive oil
290ml/10floz boiling water
1 chicken stock cube
1 tbsp greek yogurt
(I usually double up on this recipe)
1. peel BNS & remove seeds
2. dice & saute in the oil with onion & garlic for 3-4 mins
3. add water & stock cube abd simmer for around 10-12 mins until squash is tender
4. blend soup in belender
4. season to taste & serve with a dollop of yougurt
usually I toast some flaked almonds & add when I serve
I'm thinking of doing this onion soup too

I'd just use cheddar rather than any particular cheeseDF as at 30/12/16

Thanks for the recipe DNMS. I had butternut squash with red pepper soup before so i will do your recipe and add some peppers!! So excited!
Today - at least it hasn't snowed here but it is getting icy! Got to get to my Mums later to see SIL for her birthday. Plus i haven't held my little niece in 2 weeks!! Could get the bus round to the other side of the village for £1.50 but walking will be free - i'll see how enthusiastic the girls are!
I HAVE to get these stockings wrapped tonight!! I keep bringing them downstairs, wrapping other stuff and then i have no patience to wrap them and take them back up! I only have a phone and a voucher to wrap which i have to collect from my mums so no excuses tonight!!
Woke up with a bit of a cold and an awful cough! I hope it doesn't get any worse this week!!!

Morning all!!
Managed to get the kids to walk to my mums yesterday and then she fed us lunch and we stayed there until OH finished work to pick us up. So quite a result! Got to feed my niece her bottle - first time i have fed a baby in 4 years!!!!
:D:D:D:D
Also we have to get presents to my Dad's mums who we don't really see. She lives a 20 minute drive away. But my stepmum and Dad are going down tomorrow so they are coming to pick up our presents to take with them. I may jump in the car with them but no petrol for us :j
Today is food shopping but we don't need too much. Chilli con Quorn tonight as we have everything for that in the cupboards. We are out xmas day at my mums, boxing day at MIL's and my family do our boxing day on the 28th so we get that too! My mum has 20 for dinner and another 12 arriving for evening tea! I love our family xmas!
Hosuework today as it could do with a bit of a clean. My bestfriend is coming to mine tomorrow to swap presents! This is handy as i was going to get the bus to go and see her!
Off to carry on with my colouring book for my 101 challenge!!
