Unfortunately my son didnt pay his bill on time but paid the day after it was due and AOL cut him off from his broadband connection. He has been trying for the last two weeks to get reconnected and they have come up with a different reason every time and said it will be 1 hour to 48 hours to two weeks, every time he phones he speaks to someone different and everytime they say someone hasnt lifted the bar, they will and it will be back on shortley. He uses his internet for his business and is losing a fortune. He has asked for the mac code but they have told him it takes up to two weeks to get it? Can anyone suggest anything he can do he is desperate

Anyone relying on broadband for their business should not be using AOL.
Not sure what the rules are regarding MAC codes but I thought they were supposed to be issued instantly on request - or at least that is my experience. I guess he should write (Fax?) to them to lodge a complaint with someone higher up in the organisation if their telephone staff aren't helping him.0 -
They must issue one within 5 working days.

aol were sold to talk talk earlier this year.they did exactly the same to me even though i informed them of my new bank details.not once after spending two hours to their call centre in india did i get an apology for their c..k up.talk talk are the worst company i have ever had to deal with.you will get your mac code eventually.i would then suggest you go with bt or virgin and stay away from mickey mouse companies like talk talk.in the meantime advise your son to get a mobile dongle to access the internet.0

aol are well known for it. use to be with them,
you wont need a mac code if you can get virgin cable internet, since it isnt a standard dsl service running through a bt or onnet exchange. as far as i know anyway you wont need a mac code. same with bt infinity. unfortunately if you live in the sticks its not an option most of the time.0
