What pads do you use?

I bought my mooncup (new) from an ebay shop for £11 around 4 years ago. I could never go back to tampons and towels. Don't know about less painful periods as don't generally hurt, but has shortened them.
No pain inserting, cost effective, great for going on holiday. Perfect for me
:rotfl: l love this site!! :rotfl:0 -
thanks for the website... TSS is something that i've known about in general terms for years but haven't ever really read anything! i knew that tampons were a risk factor but didn't know much else. if there are about 40 cases in the uk, including ones from all other causes (only 20 a year from tampon use), then i'm ok with the risk being low enough for me not to worry (although everyone will take their own view on risks). glad i read the website (and it's something i should have really read up on years ago!).Without being too personal, is it that you have a particular specific reason to be worried about TSS? It is very rare. I have used tampons all my life day and night, from about age 16 and I am conscientious about changing them and using the appropriate absorbancy. TSS is something I am well aware of but don't worry about. I would find wearing pads a real nuisance by comparison.

No reason to worry, just a bit of a worrier:o0 -
I use Always ultra with wings as well. I agree they are very good and I've never had any problems from them.
I completely prefer them to tampons. No particularly reason, I guess it's just what you get used to.Be Kind, Work Hard, Stay Humble, Smile Often, Keep Honest, Stay Loyal, Travel When Possible, Never Stop Learning, Be Thankful Always and Love0 -

I havent looked but are you implying they sell second hand ones on ebay?:eek:Who I am is not important. What I do is.0 -
I don't understand how a mooncup could shorten or have less side affects to a period? The blood comes out the same way!0

I'm so glad those days are well behind me now (I'm 55). Never got on with tampons, couldn't insert them properly, and "things with wings" usually chafed.0

I have just bought a mooncup after 2 different friends telling me that they had changed their lives, actually looking forward to my next period now! On the mooncup website it says re reduction of period pain: 'The Mooncup can safely be used with painful periods and many women report that using the Mooncup reduces their pain. One reason for this could be that the Mooncup is worn lower down in the vagina than a tampon and allows your menstrual blood to flow more naturally. The Mooncup is also hypoallergenic and does not react with your body.'2012 is going to be my year - bring it on!:j0

i use either bodyform or always, whatever is on offer at the time really. I did use tampons before i had kids but cant anymore0

I dislike any form of sanitary towel - just find them uncomfortable and bunchy. Use Always overnight if I have to.
I also use menstrual cups (not a mooncup though, a lunette and a meluna). It's usually people who've never tried them that make the most negative comments about them (not talking about anybody on this thread, just in general). Anybody who's interested can find out about them here:

I haven't personally found I have shorter periods with a cup, but I definitely have easier and more convenient ones.Love the animals: God has given them the rudiments of thought and joy untroubled. Do not trouble their joy, don't harrass them, don't deprive them of their happiness.0
