Play.com very slow delivery

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone else was having problems with Play.com deliveries?
I've always had good service from them in the past and so wasn't hesitant to use them again but at the moment their delivery service is awful. I ordered a cd on 5/12 and am still waiting for it to be delivered. I do live in the west of Scotland and appreciate that deliveries are much slower than usual but I've had other items delivered from companies based quite far afield even when the items have been ordered 9 days after my CD!

Yes. very slow delivery which, for me, is unusual from Play.

A PS3 game has taken 2 weeks to arrive and I couldn't enquire as their help system won't let you until 21 days have passed!

Anyway, it did arrive today.

Amazon Prime is also bad at the moment. Goods ordered on 13/12 still not here - with the promised next day PRIME service.

I just received a parcel today that was sent out 4/12/10 via special delivery from amazon...

Im the same, i ordered a dvd on at start of the month and i checked and it said it had been posted on the 4th, but i dont have it yet. I also ordered a cd and it said it was posted on the 8th, i received the cd yesterday, but the dvd has still yet to make an appearance. Im hoping its here really soon, its a xmas prezzie for my dad

Yep - also ordered two games from Play - one came today so hopefully the other one will be tomorrow

Just thought I'd mention that Play.com have been fast as ever for me. No delays here. Guess they are backlogged though with the snow & it being christmas? :j

been waiting siince 4th dec, no point flapping tho, it'll be here eventually. it'll be the couriers back logs as everywhere else

play.com has been awful for me too. One item was posted on the 8th but isn't here yet, and another ordered before that and showing as "in stock - dispatch within 24 hours" hasn't even been sent yet

It is not Amazons fault. All the couriers are in a right mess at the moment. I work for a company that can take in a lot of deliveries in one day and only recently it took Parcel Force 6 days to delivery a tiny little envelope full of tiny little plastic connectors.

I was also told that TNT are something like 50 lorry loads behind on deliveries.

a] its christmas + theres a huge volume of odrers.
b] the weather isnt exactlyhelping the situation.

Deliveries from Play have been really slow for me this year, not just recently. Generally, they used to take 2 days after despatch but over the last 8 months or so they've taken at least 5 days. I'm still waiting for something that was sent on the 8th.
