How much have you spent today and Sunday to Friday challenge!

Good afternoon DFWs :)

Isn't it a beautiful Sunday? Very bright down here although it feels quite nippy! Still better than dark and miserable ;)

Had a really nice morning with the OH and we'll be off out soon. Going to look at furniture and ideas for our new home! :j Won't be buying anything today, just want to see what's out there :A

So, I don't propose to spend anything today and will challenge myself to £20 this week! I came in just under the £30 for last week, which was my target, but I need to tighten my belt a bit on weekdays so back to £20 :D

Here's the challengers from last Sunday:
  1. Challenger £ Amount
  2. immoral_angeluk 75
  3. Froglette 50
  4. lynsayjane 10
  5. Brassic 145
  6. newleaf 18.42 (how is the evening coat coming along?)
  7. Gemmzie 20
  8. MinnieSpender 50
  9. rarele 40
  10. Bogof_Babe 20 (I know you had a tough week hun, thinking of you)
  11. northern_star 12.69
  12. newmum1 20
  13. Mrs(no)money 20
  14. postingalwaysposting 5
  15. livinginhope 30
  16. babes21 40
  17. Jesscat 50
  18. Imelda 10 (will bump thread for you tomorrow as I know you are not online at w/e ;))

Quite a list this week, despite it being a half term and I know a lot of you have more expenses then! Also many new starters: immoral_angeluk, froglette, rarele, Bogof_Babe, babes21 :T :T :T

I look forward to seeing everyone's result as well as the new targets for the week :j

Anyone looking in, just set yourself a challenging target for your un-budgeted spending (i.e not food shopping, bills, debt repayment etc) and off we go!

Have a lovely day and here's to a great week for us all.

Moozie xx

I'm just off to Asda to get some things for lunch during the week and will also check cupboards to see if I need anything else to make enough evening meals. Should be less than £10.

I will also take £10 out of the bank and see if I can live on that this week (Mon-Fri). Actually, that will be excluding food I have to buy for visitors at the weekend. Must go look for tips on big meals for cheap prices too.

  • Spent £86... £16 over target but we had our 4d pregnancy scan on tuesday which meant £10 more petrol that we would've normally used... and we had to do a top up food shop.. but other than that we haven't done too bad!

This week our target will be higher as we need to do a full food shop etc so I'll probbaly say that this week our target is to spend no more than £180 including food and petrol, and a couple of big ebay things we have to send.. I hate payday.. the money disappears so quick...

so put me down for £180.

  • Hello Everyone,

Now I'm not sure how to count this weeks spend. For everything that I had control over I spent £17.83, which was way under my £50 target, I'm really suprised at how little I need to spend if I try! So I will set next weeks target at £30. We are going out on Wednesday night to the theatre as part of a long line of celebrations for my OH's 30th birthday, otherwise I would have set it at £20.

My dilema comes with the £270 pounds that I had to spend on the car after it bust on me on Thursday. It would be really depressing to have to count that into my weekly spend as it really is a big one off. I already had £170 of this saved in a car fund, so I just needed to find the remaining £100. We decided not to go to the snow dome this weekend because of this; and that would have cost us £62, so really I just need to shave £38 off the rest of this months spending to cancel out the expense of the car. That doesn't seem like it should be too difficult no that I am posting on here each day.

Do you rechkon that I am doing some dodgy accounting? Or is it reasonable not to get too depressed about this unforseen expense?

    Afternoon all..

I think I will budget (excluding food):

£1 for some NO 7 wipes as I have a £5 off voucher.
£2.50 for some toothpaste (can't remember exact amount from Boots) but on MBG
£20 for a meal with work colleagues this Friday
    £15 for petrol
£9.50 for magazines (although this amount should be over estimated)

    So that is £48.
    Tesco points: 101 (£21.50, £19.50, £7.50, £21 & £5)
    Boots points: £0.28
    Pigsback points: 715 (4 xBoots£10 & 1 xPizzaHut£10, 2 x £10 clothing vouchers)
    Mutual points: 3417 (redeemed 8250)
    Rpoints:redeemed 28925 points)Cashbag:£8.91(£20)
  • Nothing today and nothing yesterday, but will need a new tyre soon (boo hoo).
