  • I managed to get a VIP slot via my mobile phone. But for some reason I cant access the VIP listing and nothing stays in basket. Someone said it is something to do with 'cookies' but i have allowed Cookies (well I think I have!) and its still not working?? Any one else had this problem?? any help much appreciated :)

Have just been having another look through the sale listing and there definately seems to have been more added as yesterday there were barely any boys trousers in size 10 but today there are quite a few......still nothing for girls in 7-8 thou which is very odd! Either there is a problem with the system or everyone buying this year has little girls aged 7-8, and the chances of that are?????

I didn't get an email about a VIP slot, however I've just switched my old mobile on to find that I got a text message about it. So if you didn't get the VIP email try going to https://www.next.co.uk/vipsale, so long as you have an account it may let you book a slot.

I looked at the Designer Women's footwear yesterday and there were lots of boots I liked, but now there are just loads of trainers, all the boots have gone! I can't believe there are people buying these now the sale is close, have the staff had first pickings already? :(

How very strange, the boots are now back!

Does anyone know if the designer brands tend to sell out quickly? my slot isn't until 7.30pm on the Wednesday and just wondering if there will be much left!
  • I haven't had a vip invite for 2 years. I even tried the https://www.next.co.uk/viplist link with no luck but when i did that link on the left hand side there was a banner to be considered for a slot. I did that and about an hour later i tried again and there it was :j:j:T:T

They've definitely added a lot of boy's clothes. There was barely anything in my little boy's size yesterday and his size wasn't actually coming up. Typical I should have checked before I spent a fortune for him on Mothercare this morning. Not sure how much more I can get away with spending.

tbh how longs a piece of string

it could be that they have lots of stock, or no-one has the same size feet as you, etc. so stock is available, or it could be that they only have one pair and the staff get first picks, so nothing is left

some years i have managed to get very little of what i want, but other years ive managed to get ipods and tvs - all i do know is, you have to have fast typing fingers (or are good at cut and paste), and can quickly alter your bag and checkout. if something is out of stock, you have to remove it from your bag, before your can checkout, and this all adds to the time for more stuff to go out of stock

as already said, you have to be prepared. have your list organised in order of preference, with substitutes ready to go, and check out. you wont have time to browse, its put your items in the bag and go

this is what really annoys me about Next!! and as you said, it all takes so long to do, especially when their systems are running a lot slower than normally anyway.
  • last time i had all my stuff in my basket within about 2 mins only one item was out of stock, so i was well pleased
