Personally I don't think these 'buy it now before the price increases' threads are really grabbits.
These things go up most years, common sense says to stock up before the increase.

This is a 12%+ increase though. Buy them now and saving them up (especially for large users) is much better than having your money in the bank and paying full price when the increase starts.
It gives members a chance to save money and by stocking up, they are "grabbing them", which to me makes it a "GRABBIT".

Same as the person who posted about buying the yearly rail ticket before the fares increase.

Where would you post it? (I hope that doesn't come across as sarcasm/ a dig, I'm fairly new to the MSE forums and still finding my way around slightly! :))

Did anyone answer the Superdrug instore code question please?

If I can get a discount over the 5% already offered, that would be amazing.

Seeing as I need to stock up for my ebay business...

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=39445376&postcount=25 Info of offer is on my post along with prices if that helps. But in short no, the usual no stamps/top-ups, baby milk etc applies
  • I only buy 2nd class stamps on principle - anyone know where is the cheapest place to buy these?
    It's 5 o'clock somewhere!

Costco are cheaper if you are a member or know someone who is.

http://www.discountstamps.co.uk/products-page do them slightly cheaper, have used before no problem.

EBAY LINK You can get a 100 second class at about £25 instead of £32 generally, or if you can be bothered there are normally 100 unfranked stamps on paper for about £12

    Hope that helps
  • So can I just clarify please?

Stamps are going up in price, so, for a limited time only, they are available at the current price, which, in theory makes it a "grabbit" because they won't be available at this price forever?

But - it's not a special price reduction or glitch, so some people don't think it's a grabbit and shouldn't be on the grabbit board?

Everything goes up (excpt wages) and therefore, potentially, everything could be a grabbit, if you know about the price increase in advance?

And superdrug sell reduced stamps? Instore? So if they continue with this trend, in effect the stamps won't have gone up at all coz those people who buy stamps in superdrug will only be paying the current normal prices once the 5p increase is implemented.

But the fact that, thanks to some kind soul, we have now be reminded that the price is going up, means we can stock up on stamps, should we be in that group of people who use stamps, and it doesnt really matter where it's posted as long as it has been (and by posted I don't mean with a stamp)

    Sincerely yours

  • Yes lol. But only till the 4th of January.
  • I did, years ago when they were 24p for first class. Lol, tax free savings. I sometimes give a load to our adult children. I bought rolls of them when I had the money. Brilliant investment
