These bumps are pointless and quite annoying. I keep coming back for news and there's nothing there. Can anyone give me a reason for doing it that maybe I'm missing?

Topics are ranked from the latest posts. When there has been no posts in a topic for a while it falls down the list in the indexing sites and eventually it will fall so far it goes on "page 2". People then post a message saying "bump" to let other know they only post to get the topic back on top on "page 1". Other blond moments are welcome - have a nice weekend!

There isn't any great need for it to be on page 1 all the time, if you have posted on the thread it will be in your 'user control panel' and if not it is easily found using the search function.

There is no reason why this thread should be on page one.

Even if you have not posted to the thread, you can subscribe to it at the top of the page and receive email notifications of new posts.

Almost nothing happens on the Pigsback site over the weekend, and so there are fewer posts.

Hammock: What page your post appears on will vary for each reader, depending on what settings they have specified in their control panel. I have mine set to 40 posts per page, and for me this is page 12.

Hi everyone,

I have just found a parcel left outside my front door from Mango bookclub. I will follow the advice given here to sort it out, so thank you to everyone who has posted about this problem. I am cross about this as I am very careful - has anyone managed to work out if it is via pigsback yet??? I bet there are a fair few of us out there who are getting these books delivered!
