That'll be because programmed RNGs are actually Pseudo RNGs which require a seed value (typically the computers real time clock) and then use an algorithm to calculate a series of numbers. Thus if you seed two different instances of the same RNG with the sam starting value you get repeating results. This is a fault commonly made by testers of RNG software who write harnesses that repeatedley create a new instance of the RNG and store the output value many times a second, then they wonder why they get multiple repeats

That was in what in English?

  • Hi all,

    Just q quick question.

I bought some books off Amazon a week or so ago, totalling about £20. A few days ago I got the (what I now know as) 200 first purchase bonus points. At first I thought they just gave me too many, lol

Do they still give you the points earned from buying the actual books? Or are the 200 points it? :)

    Cheers,
    Julie

I got the points for my first order of books from Amazon via Pigsback recently but I didn't get any bonus points. I wonder why?
