Hi Everyone
Quiet day here, did a pile of paperwork this morning, meeting with SS to finalise OH's respite care. All done and dusted now so he will go a week on Saturday. Feel a bit nervous TBH - I just hope he will be happy there and that they look after him properly.
Bought a pair of beige M&S jeans from CS shop size 16 :j Getting there.
Off to go on the bike and then cook dinner, then take it easy this evening.
Hope you are all well. X0 -
Back on Track - Finally
Hi Everyone
Well as it says above I've finally got my a** in gear and am back on track.
After WW & only losing 0.5lb (although not that bad considering how bad last week was - what with stress levels through the roof, poor sleep etc) I am now seriously back in healthy eating and exercising mode.
Yesterday 2kms bike, today 3kms, yoga stretches and tummy crunches
Lots of salads, (leaves from garden), lean protein, fruit and veg. So hopefully should start to see some benefits soon. Tummy feels better for cutting down carbs again.
Tonight will tidy and paint nails whilst watching Camelot. Absolute tosh but fun. I love the King Arthur legends and will watch just about any version.
Serious rain here today - good for gardens I guess but have noticed the guttering needs attention. Thought they'd managed to find the fault obviously not. So ..........whilst it was lashing down I took some photos of where it was pouring over and through the guttering to show exactly where the fault lies. Must have looked a right idiot - hanging out of the window taking pictures of guttering.:p
Only a few days till my deadline - obviously not going to make it. Have been thinking about stuff - how far I've come and what I still need to achieve.
To be discussed later ............. :rotfl:
Hope you are all enjoying your weekends - despite the weather.0 -
is there any chance this challenge will be renewed at this years summer solstice?0

Hi Everyone
Hi Elantan - yes I'm hoping we can renew/extend this thread, if the nice moderators allow us to do this. We had a bit of a struggle to get going but I think people do rather enjoy it.
Question is do we start another one or carry on with this one.
Whatever happens it's time to start reflecting, reviewing what has worked, what needs to be tweaked etc.
I guess you must be a lurker Elantan - Are you participating at all - are you making good progress. Please do post and let us know how you are getting on.
Twinnie - where are you? Are you ok? Are you on holiday? Or has your poor back seized again?
I have just started taking a herbal supplement called Devils Claw - supposed to help with joint pain and back pain. Will let you know if it works.
I've tried prescription anti-inflammatories such as Diclofenic. However, although they worked like a dream on the aches and pains they made me feel really ill. My poor tummy reacted very badly, even with Omeprazole to protect it. Had to give up.:(
A lot of herbal type anti-inflammatories have the same effect so I struggle to find anything that I can safely take. So far the Devils Claw shows no adverse side effects, fingers crossed.
Felt a bit low today - just tiredness I guess. Just pottered about, weather a bit iffy so no gardening.
Exercise - 3.5 mms bike, 10 reps of each exercise on Multi Gym
Will do some stretches and tummy crunches later - just had dinner so now isn't a good time.
Treatment - Facelift face pack
Hope you've all had a good week-end and are all fired up for next week. Onwards and upwards.:) x0 -
yep been lurking ...have to admit i havnt started anything myself was thinking this solstice would be a very good place to start though0

Hi Everyone

G'night all x0 -
Happy Summer Solstice!!!
Hope everyone is doing well.
Well a hectic weekend for me, including a trip to A&E with a friend who got thrown off their bike...thankfully it's a fracture rather than a break, but meant Saturday was a little more fraught than I'd hoped:S
ah well, all went well in the end, lots of food, punch went down very well and we had a nice time- did knock me out a bit though- I'd not been feeling too great before hand and by SUnday morning I was in a real state- migraine/feeling rubbish which lasted til this morning, still not 100% but at least not feeling so sick now...somehow doubt that I'll be up to much celebrating tonight (3rd wedding anniversary) but will have a nice meal with DH and perhaps plan for a nice day out on our next free weekend...which looks like it will be sometime in August.....
Really hoping we can keep the frump to fab thing going- I definately think I've still got a way to go yet- though looking back at pics from the start of the year, I've definately made some progress:D I was even brave enough at the weekend to try out some really bright eyeshadow- which I usually shy away from, this time I felt confident that I could carry it off so used some fushia and violet- picking out some colours from my dress- and got a lot of compliments- 6mths ago I would have just done the usual mascara and been done with it...DH commented that it's been years since I experimented with bright colours make-up wise and it looked good, thinking about it, I haven't really done that since before I got sick...which is coming on for 4 years now...what a waste! It's kind of amazing really looking back to how I felt at the start of the year- with the diabetes being diagnosed/high BP etc and how I feel now...not there yet but feel like I can ge there as long as I keep at it
So thanks guys, for all the help, advice and support, I don't think I'd have made feeling good a priority if I hadn't seen this thread and become intrigued by managing to do it on a budget/as MSE as possible...
fingers crossed for much more fabness to come!

Hi Everyone
This is the third time I've tried to post my computer is being silly:mad:0 -
Having another try @ posting, computer has been playing up so might have to play it safe and do a couple of separate smaller posts.
Anyway ...........
Hello Ladies & Lurkers
Here we are - the Summer Solstice is upon us, so A Very Happy Mid-summers Day to One & All
Let's celebrate by metaphorically dancing naked in the woods like summer nymphs and fairies. Oo-er misses. Or we could just be
sedate and just raise a glass
Let's try and post this and see what happens.
Back in a moment ..........0 -
Ok - we're back in business.
Glad to hear your weekend went well Mrs W - apart from your friend's mishap that is.
I am also really pleased that you feel that this thread has been helpful to you. I really mean that, it's been good to share on our journey to fabness - it was never meant to be just about me.
And yes I have every intention of keeping going - I do hope that you are all going to come along and enjoy the ride;)
Before we move onto phase II - perhaps now is the time to reflect ......0
