Dental Work Abroad
Comments
-
As DevonPaul mentioned -
I have also had implant treatment abroad with http://www.kreativdental.co.uk and was more than happy with the work they carried out.
It seems that some people on this thread have had bad experiences using different companies, this however has not been my experience.
I spent a lot of time researching different companies making sure i knew exactly what I was getting - this i think is the key to having a successful dental trip.
Anyway I feel like im woffling on a bit.

I suggest that you do not consider having dental work done in China. I visited the dental department of a major teaching hospital, intending to have a wisdom tooth removed. I was seen by an Associate Professor who seemed very worried at the prospect of carrying out such a complicated piece of work, and warned me about the things that could go wrong. I had some X-rays taken (and the X-ray equipment was primitive) and decided to get my dental work done somewhere else instead.0

Tiffany915's post(hopefully soon to be removed) looks suspiciously like.......SPAM....especially as it has nothing to do with the OP's request....nearly two years ago

The General Dental Council have issued a guide for those thinking of having dentistry abroad.
You can see it here.

1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
I read that guide hoping for specific advice about where to go, but it's so vague as to be useless - it basically says do loads and loads of research because you can never be too careful. Fine but no-one is likely to go into as much depth as that guide is suggestingToothsmith wrote: »The General Dental Council have issued a guide for those thinking of having dentistry abroad.

I personally had doubts about going to a clinic to some of the above countries that have been mentioned. I went to Germany of all places. Germany is renowned for high quality products and services and they were simple awesome.
They even have an english person as their rep in the UK and they picked my up in a limo from the airport. Great service, great price and great quality work.
