my brother had neighbours who insisted on loud music all day long once, they got two warnings before he kicked the front door in and fired the stereo through the living room window onto the street:A R.I.P. My upstairs neighbour was a heroin addict AND a prostitute. As if the noise of her headboard banging all night wasn't bad enough
(:eek:) we used to get all sorts of skanky types knocking on our door at 3am asking if we had any tinfoil or a lighter. Once, someone knocked on our door at 12.30am on a Sat night/Sun morning and asked if we wanted to buy any cheese! (which he had nicked from the Co-op round the corner)
Every week, the glass in our lobby door was kicked in by one or another of her "aquaintances" and when we got a service charge bill which included a large amount for 11 separate repairs to the communal door, we finally exploded. We called the council, the police and the local paper and we did eventually get quite a large amount knocked off of the repair bill. Plus she got arrested, evicted and convicted of dealing drugs, which was reported in the local rag. It took it's toll on the neighbourhood though, an elderly couple next door moved out because of her and the nursery school next door had to send a letter to all of the parents telling them not to let their kids walk on the grass outside the flats because used syringes had been found there.
OP, invest in a couple of sets of earplugs and if you need to use an alarm to get up, set your mobile on vibrate and keep it under your pillow to wake you up. You do have my sympathy though!"I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -

They are noisy, slam doors, put the washing machine on in the middle of the night (we live in a terrace so noise carries) and event sit naked in the bakc garden whilst pleasuring himself. Last year he decorated the back room in the nude with nor covering on the window. It was bad enough for us but the other neighbours little girl was v traumatised.
Thankfully they have gone away for Christmas and I hope that they decide to stay 12000 miles away.
Hope your situation turns out better than our
What the f***!!! Surely you can report him to the police for that?!0 -
I love living in a new house with soundproofing. I have just one neighbour, can't hear a bean from the washing machine and the baby is faintly audible when he's at his most unhappy. She can't hear DD practising keyboard, my amp never goes above about 4 and even a tiny radio fills the entire house with good sound at a low volume.
She has even said not to worry about getting DD an electronic drum kit, just get real drums as DD won't be practising after 9pm.
So much better than in the old flat where I could hear the bloke downstair's bum squeaking as he moved in his bath :eek:, next door's arguments that started with the place being untidy and always went into how useless she was supposed to be in bed, other neighbour's DIY at 10.30pm, the drunks downstairs stinking and rowing, etc, etc.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll

Do people not know you can complain to environmental health, landlord, etc etc? It does work, you don't have to put up with it! Keeping a diary as evidence is a good starting point. Your neighbours may guess at you being the one who complained but there will be no proof so just deny it.
Yeah right :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I lived in council accommodation and kept a diary for 2 years and I had a 2 year old, my downstairs neighbour had a 1 year old. We spent nights holding our babies in our arms with the police at the door saying contact the council we can't do anything. My life was hell. I moved out in the end as I was at breaking point.Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.0 -
Problem dog next door? Invest in a few bars of ex-lax or similar. Feed to dogs just before they are taken in for the night ..."Never underestimate the mindless force of a government bureaucracyseeking to expand its power, dominion and budget"Jay Stanley, American Civil Liberties Union.0

Oh I know how you feel. A few years back we also had really loud neighbors who doesn't have a single ounce of consideration for their neighbors. But thank goodness that we were only renting the house back then, so we moved out as soon as our lease was over. Transferring to another house took a lot of effort but it was certainly worth the good night sleep that we can finally enjoy.
If it really gets too much, it won't be a bad idea to call the police so they can be properly warned.Mr. Mulla0 -
I can sympathise completely. I have upstairs neighbours who go out to work and their dog barked at everone who passed by plus the postman, leaflet deliverers etc. I live next door to a school so you can imagine the people coming and going. The dog used to launch itself at the window and once it started barking it just went on and on even when there was no one around. I complained to the housing association and it did get better. Then OMG they started making lots of noise when having sex and this got worse and worse. The last straw was one summer evening (early- around 8.00pm) when it was a warm evening and windows were open. They were having sex and making so much noise the whole street must have heard them. It seems as if they wanted to be heard because it got louder day by day. Once again I complained to the housing association and to give them their due they did visit them and it has stopped but now the barking dog has started again. Why do people have to be so inconsiderate of the people that live around them. Sorry about the rant lol0
