I think I would be quite sad if we stopped receiving it now....its a bit like a christmas tradition....shame I'd love them to put a return address on the envelope...I could send them a card back....it almost feels as if we are friends as its gone on so long!
If you have a forwarding address for the previous owners, when the time eventually comes that you stop receiving the card, you could let the previous owners know that you think their "friend" may have passed away...0 -
Why would you return post to the solicitor who acted for your house purchase? Their involvement ended ages ago. If you can, just return the post to sender, or if there is no address throw it away. If you send it to the solicitor, chances are it is just floating around the office for months because no-one wants to deal with it, until it eventually ends up in the bin.0

About 10 years ago we started getting Christmas Cards for someone with the same surname initial as us. At first we reposted it as "not known at this address". A few years ago I opened the card-it was from someone I used to work with about 18 years ago! Initially, I felt a little hurt that they had not sent us a card, but had mistakenly sent one to someone else, at our address! (But I did not to do anything about it, except cross them off our list). The cards kept coming. I learned that they had moved (but no address). I decided I might as well open the cards and stick them up with the others. Another one came today. A thought has just occurred to me-could it be that they intended to send one to us all along, but got our surname wrong? In which case, I'm insulted that they could forget our name!0

Maybe the solicitor acting for the seller was also dealing with the estate and the will?0 -

Maybe - but after 12 months I still think it is most likely that the file is closed and archived away, and the solicitor is busy working for his current fee paying clients!0 -
My parents have cards sent to them that they don't even know who they are from. There will be no hope for the next owners of the house!
Any one know who Jane is?0 -
Fanstastic, I was looking for a similar service. As I bought the house 2 years, still a lot of posts come for the previous owner.Doozergirl wrote: »Registering with the MPS will stop any unsolicited mail, which you may have already done.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. We've just moved, but before we left (last week) recieved a card for previous owner. We've lived there nearly 15 yrs. I agree why would you continuously send a card, surely at some point you'd think "mmm why aren't i getting one back??!!". again no return address. :eek:Morgage till Nov 30 GOAL MFW Sept 2016Aug 11 - £100k Aug 2016.... It's GONE!!!!!
