Sorry but I do have to come back to this.
If you have difficulties in driving at night then..............................
Don't,
I do not want to meet you when, by your own addmission, " you cannot see the road in front of you"
I'll get me coat, unless the op has run has run over it, :wall:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

That is literally the attitude people take
That I think is one of my most frequest motoring frustrations.
Is there a penalty for driving iwthout fully functioning headlights?!0 -
at night, yes, although im sure i read somewhere that actually we are only required to use side lights, im sure that cant be right but i remember reading it somewhere.
im one of the irritating people who use their lights all the time. i got the idea from a holiday in sardinia where lights are to be on the cars all the time (and obviously its very sunny most of the year). it makes my car a lot more visible0 -

you are not required to use headlights when in a built up area (where there are street lights less than - I think - 100 metres apart) although you should have sidelights on (or running lights) you must not use main beam in a built up area.
Although I think the law is a little strange when it allows cars to drive at night with only their sidelights on, but all new motorcycles are required to have their headlights permanently wired ON which means you have to have them on during the day. (people misconception that headlights will get you seen on a motorbike - digress).
Anyway there are certain things you can do that can help your driving at night. yes it may be down to bad eyesight, which means you need to get it checked, but there could also be other factors ssch as inexperience and vehicle prepartation that may be causing an issue.Don't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0 -
I have to drive 2-3 times a week at night and don't enjoy it one bit. I'm troubled in particular by the glare of oncoming headlights.
Best technique is to look hard at the left hand side of the road. Trace the line of the verge. Sometimes I have to work on the principle that the road can't have moved since I could last see it and there will be a few seconds when I can't see as much as I'd like.Happy chappy0 -

Yes i've seen some badly fitted after market HID's, but most have been perfectly acceptable.
Personally I think people just don't like having something inferior to the next person and even more so if it requires getting their hands dirty or picking up a screwdriver.Happy chappy0 -

Those would have been fitted as standard and thus immune from the upcoming MOT changes.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

One of my cars has sealed beam units still, so I guess that's not me then.0 -
Yup, you did'nt have to take the wheel of, wheel liner out and even then wrestle at arms length to change one
Carp light output though;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
