Off to get the sticky
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Wed 15th Dec This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all
I've been awake since 4 & up since 4:30, DD has her scan today & we should have a better idea of what is going on, fingers crossed it's all ok.
Frosty here this morning so the car will need scraping, I have Christmas dinner at school today, so no packup for me, but need to make hubby one.
Garlic chicken with mash & veg for tea tonight & then back to the sewing, I knitted another scarf yesterday, by special request, it was definitely the last one.
Keep safe & warm everyone.
Hugs Hester

Hester, I must have missed some posts, not sure what's going on with your DD but I hope she's OK :)

It's strange seeing the walls change colour from dark to light pink as the plaster dries out. For the first time since saturday, the windows aren't streaming in the morning.

Today is Put Up The Decorations Day :D Well it will be if I can get them out of the loft by myself, we didn't have time to get them last night.

My brother is going to store the new kitchen in his garage, so we're off to Ikea tonight :T

Dust is still settling, as soon as I get rid off it, more settles. I'll damp dust again, then rearrange the lounge ready for Christmas. The bathroom could do with a good scrub too :o:D

    Morning Peeps

I`ve been up for a while as i was tossing and turning and couldn`t get back to sleep so thought that i may as well start my day.

The woofaloes will have an early walk today as i need to get back with them before DH leaves for w*rk, i have a parcel being delivered (hopefully) so i can`t pop out anywhere until i have that safe in my little mitts.

We ended up at the shops last night and i didn`t get all my jobs done yesterday so the tree didn`t go up - hopefully i shall manage that today, i`m about to mix up a weak bleach solution to spray on some sealant, glad that i saw the mould starting on it in time so it shouldn`t be a stubborn problem as i`ve noticed it early - hope that i won`t be eating my words later :D

Today i will be mostly decluttering and cleaning and wrapping prezzies :D i have a few small things hidden away for DH that i need to find later and wrap then i can hide them again - i shall put a note in my purse this year so that when i can`t remember where i`ve hidden them i will be able to find them :D

Donnygal - I switched to chrome about 6 months ago after getting really fed up with IE & FF, i second your recommendations for it - had no probs since.

Pollys - Wow thats quite close to Christmas  looking at it from a different angle it means that you will have the most relaxed time ever :D enjoy the rest whilst you can :D

Snoozer - We got a couple of packs of the biscuits :D he seemed to know that we had something for him when we got home and made a bee-line for the carrier bags :D

A great big head with a great big square nose has just invaded the space between my head and the pc (i`m lounging on the sofa) so i`d best go let her out before she starts doing the wall of death around the house :D

Hope that all the snufflies and poorlies are better today!

Have a wonderful Wednesday peeps

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p
  • Good Morning All

Hester - Good luck for DD today.

Colder again today brrr. Am in my office and will be here most of the day but thats OK because I've decided that I am going to get loads of work done today, some Xmas pressies wrapped and some ironing.

Have DD at home, she has been doing mocks and now doesn't have to go in till the New Year - am sure she will have a lazy day in her pj's watching telly :o

Have leftover chicken so think will be curry for dinner tonight. Will need to pop out at sometime for a couple of bits.

Need another coffee now, catch up later.x

    Mornign all,

Chilly here this morning, our CH broke down last night, so we have no heating or hot water, its a tad cold , luckily we have a heater in the lounge so at least one room is warm, dd is panacking about her hair :rotfl:, I have said that she can go one day without washing it. OH is taking the day off, and hopefully can fix it today, think it will be £80 which we can do without, but its a lot cheaper than calling a plumber in.

Off to work today, so at least I will be warm :D, so quick swish and swipe before I go, rubbish and recycling to go out this morning.

Cheese omlette for tea, with bread and butter and some salad.

Fingers crossed that OH can fix the heating before we have another cold snap, dont want any burst pipes

Hester, hope all goes well for your dd, fingers crossed for her xxxx

    Have good days all xx

    Morning all

Dark and misty here this morning, don't know about the temperature yet.

DS1 went to Cadets xmas party and seemed to have a good time. Dinner last night was LO's from the fridge, and I did remember to get the chicken breasts out to defrost for tonight.

Only working until lunchtime today so will then be able to crack on with the long list of jobs, seems never ending, need to get some cards/parcels in the post. Want to really get stuff done and finished this week so not so much left for next week when boys have finished school. Want to get washing etc up to date so I won't have lots to do in one go.

Need to get ready for work.

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Going shopping today to get some milk and potatoes. When I get back I want to get some more pressies wrapped - it is so much easier doing a few a day over a couple of weeks.
