Welcome to the club, Isis Black, and happy loaf-making! (just realised that sounds like "happy love-making" - I wasn't being that personal, honest...

  • I got a MRFB yesterday and made my first loaf last night (got pizza dough in now), I was wondering though if anyone knows the gram weight of flour in 1 cup as do not like measuring and would prefer to weigh.
Also took me nearly half an hour to get the loaf out of the tin, is this normal? No amount of shaking or tapping worked and in the end had to get hubby to help hold it whilst I forced it out.
    Thanks for any replys
Real men never follow instructions; after all they are just the manufacturer's opinion on how to put something together. :p

Hi, if you don't like the cups why not just weigh how much flour is in a cup next time you use the cup and then you will know the weight. Also not normal for loaf to take half an hour to get out lol. Is your BM new? :D

Did you try baking oil (I think it was??) onto the tin+paddle part of it for 30 mins before use. Its in the manual somewhere as what you need to do before using it the 1st time. I did this and haven't had a problem with the loaf getting stuck in the tin so far. Its only needed a couple of taps while upside down and the loaf comes out right away... HTH

I used to have a MRFB and there was a table somewhere in the book which showed the weight of a cup in grams. I think a cup of white flour was something like 140g.

Have been reading thru all the advice as my breadmaker is this morning making funny noises. I havnt had it long and it has always been great but this time I'm using a breadmix, which I have used before, and it was making clacking noises. Taking the pan out and re-seating it didnt help so I took out the dough and examined the blade and tried running it with water in to see if it turned and it did. Put the dough back in and still making the noise so have put the dough in the oven. Heaven knows how it will turn out. Has anyone any more advice for me?

    Hi Topaz,

Mine made a loud clacking noise when the tin clicked out of place and dislodged itself.during the mixing stage. After this had happened a few times, I phoned MR (as the machine is guaranteed for two years) and they sent me a replacement pan and I haven't had any problems since.

Their customer service is great so I'd give them a call and see what they say::

    7g sachet yeast
    2 tbsp oil
    225ml warm water
    half tsp salt
