  • John lewis for example will say over 10 items availabe and then it counts down until they are all gone,at least you know whats what that way,why other huge companies can't follow suit is beyond me in this day and age.
  • Last year I ordered some outdoor christmas trees from Debenhams, then got an email saying they were now OOS and the order couldn't be fulfilled. However having checked website they were still showing in stock - so I reordered them and they turned up two days later. M&S and Debenhams are both pretty bad for that.

As I said on the other thread earlier this week I had 4 orders last Monday and the went a full week before I had emails saying they could not fulfil and were crediting me.

I placed another order yesterday for 2 items and have just had an email saying one's despatched and the other is still processing.

I don't mind missing items because they go out of stock but waiting a full week to be told this is just not on in this day and age

Atleast you got a cancellation email, I had to call customer services 8 days from placing my order to be rudely told 'well you don't really need a cancellation email do you? If you checked your bank statements properly, then in about a weeks time you would have seen a refund and been able to 'do the math' as to what happened'

Appalling way to speak to a customer in my opinion!

However, I have literally just received a dispatch email for 1 of my items so therefore I'm now at a 1/10 success rate.... :D

Just got all 5 items I ordered delivered - just in time as one if a gift I need to hand over tonight, eeeek!
I wonder if it's because I'm a gold card holder that I got everything, or if I just got there early and ordered random stuff that wasn't that popular?
Also got some vouchers to use in the Boxing Day sale - two lots of £5 off a £25 spend in each leaflet. :)

IMHO, Debenhams should only debit money upon dispatch and not hold onto your funds till they work out whether they have the items or not grr!!!

Thanks again claire21, managed to get a cream dinner plate (already dispatched I am happy to report) to replace one that I chipped last week. Only 84p too, I paid 90p each originally, raging! :rotfl:

  • Well, a lovely bloke just knocked at the door & handed me a gorgeous jacket in the softest of leather & carrying a price tag of £185 - for which I've paid Debenhams £44.40.

Can't quite believe it - I'm over the moon!
