To add insult to injury they have ignored all my emails to request a refund and don't ever answer their "helpline" :rotfl: number - for me to claim their seven day refund terms! Wll probably have to get refund through credit card - don't touch them with a barge pole!!!!:mad:Lovely_Lisa wrote: »Sens Beauty Package Scam
Well, I have just received my Groupon vouchers for the "£39 instead of £160 Sens Beauty Package" at the Hilton Hotel and it is truly a miracle that they are performing up there before our eyes!!
For the five treatments (including a "pearl facial, foot massage, indian head massage and body exfoliation and hot stone massage"),that are described in this offer (which would take at least 4 hours minimum to complete properly) – they are carrying out in (what I have now found out since parting with my money) 1 hour and 15 mins - it is truly amazing or maybe just a rip-off! As £39 is all it WOULD be worth.
They have obviously over-advertised in the most audacious manner and are providing what can only be described as an extremely superficial and reduced service. I wonder if they sing "Head, shoulders, knees and toes" when you get in there, as that is all there would be time for! ;-)Coupons Rock! :j0 -
I purchased a cut and colour on Groupon back in September. I called to make an appointment and couldn't get one until the 9th December at 3.30pm. When I arrived at the salon, they advised me they were no longer honouring the vouchers as the salon had been sold, even though it still said Studio 153 outside. I've emailed Groupon 3 times and called their helpline every day but NO ONE EVER ANSWERS!! It's so frustrating and it's making me really angry .
I'm really surprised that Groupon thinks it can operate in this manner. I've bought vouchers from them before and had no problems with the companies, and overall good experiences so I recommended them to several friends and colleagues. However, now that I have encountered difficulties with one of the businesses, Groupon has shown their customer services is non-existant. I will now never use them again. They are impossible to get hold of, and someone, somewhere must be just reading and deleting emails! Any suggestions? I am not letting this go!0 -
Same here. Have been watching Groupon in my city daily and I think the communication between Groupon and the retailers is not great. Sometimes when you come with the voucher to a restaurant they have no idea what it is. Currently a a hairdresser services is not picking up the phone for a week. Money is, of course, charged.Hello
I've been having problems with some deals I've purchased through MyCityDeal/Groupon and it seems rather impossible to get hold of them.
I've been trying to email them a few times but no reply and I've been calling their customer number which seems to regularly go to an automated message in the end.
One of the two deal I've been having problems with is for an offer expiring next week which requires a booking, the company of the deal doesn't reply to my emails and their contact phone seem not existent.
The other deal is for a restaurant which I found out is now closed for good.
Any suggestion on what I should do would be much appreciated.

Might be an idea putting any problems on their facebook page -0

Interesting to see all the posts re Groupon! I have a business that I advertised on deal of the day. It said I sold 54 vouchers. Then a week later it went down to 44. I have only had 32 people redeem their vouchers!
I too have problems dealing with Groupon as well as a few other businesses I know that also did a deal of the day. Groupon did say if people hadnt redeemed their vouchers by the date they can have their money back or within the first 7 days of purchasing the deal if they change their mind. Otherwise they keep the full amount people have paid for their vouchers and I get nothing!
I would never advertise a deal with them again! I hope everyone gets their money back!0 -
Re: The Slurp voucher deal that was advertised in the MSE weekly email (like Groupon which turned down an offer of $6 billion from Google to buy them; needs any more free advertising!):
As soon as the voucher went live Slurp changed their minimum order on beers from 6 of each type to 24 of each type. When this was pointed out to them they said this was temporary due to demand and more stock was coming in soon - that was over a month ago. Similar complaints from others here:

Groupon are also displaying very misleading/deceptive adverts on Facebook offering free sample from major companies - there are not and have never been any free samples on Groupon.
Proof:
I think Martin and MSE should stop providing hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of free advertising to Groupon by mentioning them in the weekly newsletter. Isn't MSE suppossed to be a consumer site, hence the consumer revenge tagline at the top? It seems of late to have turned into a source of free advertising/free publicity for large corporations like Groupon, Santander, Tesco etc!"The happiest of people don't necessarily have the
best of everything; they just make the best
of everything that comes along their way."

I just purchased a holiday apartment deal, turns out to be a promotion by one of the most determined time share companies. They are phoning tomorrow.
This deal was sold through deception. I now haven't a clue whether a. it would be possible to enjoy a holiday obtained by this means, I know some do; or if this holiday in Spain would be tainted beyond recovery?:(
Of course, Groupon are not contactable.0 -
Just a comment - I agree they are a nightmare to contact but when I was told that the restaurant I wanted to go to was "fully booked" (but not when I phoned as a full paying customer) I eventually got through to their customer service who very easily gave me a full refund and an apology - not all bad!0

I have read about lots of problems with Groupon but thought it fair to share good experiences too. I have bought quite a few vouchers and never had a problem until this week. When going to use the voucher at Garra spa i found it had closed down. I emailed Groupon support and within two days they replied saying they have refunded my money it should show in my account within 5 days.
My best saving has been a teenagers £250 photo shoot for only £21. The photographer in Ross on Wye was fab, brill pics and did not attempt to sell anything on top as i had feared.0 -
