sensibly speaking you should chuck it at the highest interest card, but I would be tempted to clear next and SHUT IT DOWN! That will feel good and like you've really acheived something. It's good to get a boost.

Can you move the 34.9 to a lower rate somewhere? That's a horrible rate of interest.

I agree, I'd close the Next card. Then you can really concentrate on clearing the higher one.

    Morning,

have paid my usual £25 o/p towards our loan this morn and almost under the 5k mark:j
Got myself a 0% cc yesterday so i can transfer my egg balance. Anyone know if i'll be able to transfer my OH's cc balance to my 0% too, i forgot to ask at bank.

    Running total - £1691.85/£6000

Yes you can - as long as it's not MBNA to MBNA. They don't like that. But otherwise, you can transfer anyone's you'd like!

    Hi

o2bfree i agree with the advice from sarahs and goodgirl - I am currently trying to pay off a debt with a lower apr simply because of the boost it will give me to have paid 1 full debt off and have it shown as closed on my credit file. Having said that only you know what is best for you to do so if you do chuck it at the bigger credit card debt it is still reducing what you owe. x

Paid £40.24 off my IF card today, which should hopefully close the account. I paid off the full balance last month but still have to pay off the interest , which is the payment I made today.
The payment takes me to £5818.04/£6000 paid so far.

You're almost at your target suzie wong! I think you're going to be the first person to hit target. :T

o2befree I agree with everyone else, the "sensible" thing is to pay it off the CC but getting rid of a whole account always feels amazing, so I'd pay it off the Next card and close the account.

Thank you to sarahs999, goodgirl80, DedicatedDFW and dreamdreamer.
I'm going with paying off Next and CLOSING it.
Than I will send the payment that I would have usually made to Next to nasty CC.

That will be another account closed :j
I started this debt-busting with 6 debts and I will be down to 3 so all in all good progress :)

Unfortunately, I don't want to try for a lower APR card at the moment as waht I owe in total is higher than my income.
So need to reduce as much as possible before trying.
Still I used the cards so I have no-one else to blame.

Mightn't you be able to move a little of your debt to lower apr? Or are you avoiding credit searches?

No not avoiding credit searches as I have never mised a payment ever.
Just owe alot compared to income and don't think I would get accepted so don't try.
