Welcome Andy, it's never too late to join us! I will add you to the list properly tomorrow, but good luck with the debtbusting! Well done on getting rid of the overdraft and credit card.:T
Thanks for letting me join, much appreciated. I think it will keep me motivated. Already have a few things for sale on ebay and currently owed some money so hopefully clear another chunk by the end of the month.

Pernicious, when I have to make any extra purchases that add more debt, I don't count them. I just pay them off and leave my old total as before. Otherwise it gets 'cheaty', cos you look like you've paid off more than you have but actually your net amount that you've paid off is lower. I think that's what you were saying as well!
Congrats on the wedding.
Yes that is exactly what I meant! Ok so I will count the £105.62 as that's from the original amount, but when I pay off the £1386 I will not declare it, thank you:idea:Debt at July 2012: £12,862.57

Hi All
I love these boards. They have really inspired me to take control of things. It is unbelievable how quickly things can build up. I realised yesterday when I was posting that I didn't really know exact figures and need to get to grips with this.
Last night I put £60 to my credit card taking the balance to £489. I still need to phone my loan company for a settlement figure but from the yearly statements I have figured out that by Sept 2011 (when statements are issued) I will owe just under £8000. The loan is not a flexible one so I am going to try and save a good way towards this before asking for a settlement figure.0 -

I would love to join this thread. Currently have about £9K of debt to pay off and need motivation to do so. This is about £600 on my credit card (down from £4000) and a loan which has around £8,500 left on it. I would like to pay these off as soon as I can and then start working on my mortgage.
Allie
Welcome Allie, of course you can join us! Good luck with the debtbusting - shall I put you down for £9k?"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0
