Perhaps it's the process of reporting / moving that needs reviewing?
The expired button seems very hit and miss; I think it runs off some code that will automatically move the post if enough people press the button, but does it also alert Board guides, in case the threshold of expired requests is not hit?
Could a 'wrong forum' button could be added, with the option to suggest where it should be would be useful.
Glad to start the debate; hope it results in a better cleaner, Grabbit Board!!0 -
Food grabbits are a grey area. Sometimes they are moved then another time left for months. By the nature of the post, if it is a short term offer i consider it a grabbit. I therefore would like to see them left where they are rather than moved to 'food shopping and groceries'. A little common sense should be applied to this area think.
Food shopping and groceries is more of a discussion area rather than pure grabbit, alternatively how about food and grocery grabbit and chat forums?0 -
Hi everyone
Thanks to the OP and the board guides for highlighting this.
It's something that's being considered but that isn't a yes or a no. As people have mentioned we do have several boards already that would be better placed for some of those threads.
The reason we have Board Guides on here is so that you have someone to PM who can move a thread if it'll help either the OP get their post answered or help you be able to see the real Grabbits but you have to be proactive and let them know, with the link. If threads aren't being moved it means the board guides aren't aware of them because you guys haven't sent them the links.
Please remember we don't ask Board Guides to read every thread and we don't expect them to see everything so please don't criticise them for doing what we've asked, they are volunteers after all.

Surely a quick glance at the board would show up the most obvious misplaced threads without the need to be alerted by another user? No one expects the BGs to spot every one, but before yesterday near enough none were being moved.
BGs on other boards tend to be proactive, rather than waiting for others to report every thread to them. Perhaps the BGs need to meet people halfway on this?Gone ... or have I?0 -
Maybe dmg24, you could be right, but I like to think it is Christmas and they probably do have other things to do at the momentCould you do with a Money Makeover?

Today shows the need for one.
With a week to go till xmas - still looking for great bargains there are 4 threads just chatting. IE thanks to this poster, happy christmas to such and so, free snow etc.........
I dont doubt the posts mean something to someone - they just get in the way of bargains as far as i can see0
