They are very temperamental in proofreading reports. Some take minutes, some take days. The longest I've had to wait was nearly 2 weeks which was for a hotel assignment.

I would usually wait 3 days before I get a bit impatient but I discount weekends as most people probably would want to just chill rather than do "work".

  • Hello all. looking to make money fast and a job I can do while Im starting a new business - which is very time consuming but exciting! Its all up and running now so wondering if a bit of mystery shooper experience would be good - whats the average pay and how does it work please?!

And shoppers PLEASE dont disclose your fees to allocators no matter how buddy buddy you think they are with you-- This is one of the tatics *no names mentioned* companies use to get quotes together.

I think there's a difference between the kind of work that you do and the kind of work a lot of the rest of us do. I know for a fact that all the old tns area managers (and apparently most people at hq) had accounts with all the other ms companies as shoppers in order to see what fees were paid, who clients were, what terms and conditions were, etc. In the past I certainly discussed other companies/clients (although not by name/fees - but we both knew what was meant) with my tns area managers. It's an open secret what gap pay for a burger job or what re pay for a station job. Obviously it's more important not to mention what you negotiated in extras or as a last minute fee, and in your line of more niche work I'd certainly not discuss clients or fees at all.

Hi bubbles22, I promise you that you can make money VERY FAST in mystery shopping. But it sounds like you'll be busy, so I can help you out. I take a very reasonable fee of £109.95 (+VAT) upfront for this. My average income from mystery shopping is somewhere in the £0 to £1 million bracket.

If this post has not been helpful then that's because it wasn't meant to be. Read the op of this thread. :)

They are definitely there, I done 3 yesterday and 2 last minute ones with mileage today and have submitted the last one in the last 20 mins and its been proofread.

I spoke to one of the staff the other day and she said that this was the cut off weekend for the pubs and craft shops so I guess they may take priority.

No such thing as average pay, it can vary from a few £, to a few hundred to a fair bit more but if you were making megabucks, you wouldn't have time to post, never mind set up a new business.

Read the first 2 pages of this thread, search the thread and the previous 17 threads of the same name and then you should have a good idea if it's worth your time and effort to get registered for tax and signed up to the companies.

Also, can people try and be nice to whoever starts a new thread? The first 3 posts have heaps of information that WE have all found useful. Don't you all think it would be nice to click the THANKS button at the bottom of the post? I have no idea who compliled all that information but I have found it terribly useful. It's not too much to ask, just click THANKS ;):D;) So far only 10, 13 and 16 people have said THANKS to Post 1, 2 and 3. That's shameful!!!!

Also, lots of new stuff on the secret munching company. I think SERENDIPITY alerted on Friday, so not going to repeat it.

Enjoy the end to the weekend and have fun MS'ing next week.
  • Thank you all! I will start reading...! :-)
