Mind you, in the overall scheme of things, the shopper fee is only a miniscule proportion of the fee per job charged to a client by an agency. I have heard said that RE's MS charges are not that much lower than those of other agencies, if at all. RE's overheads must be pretty high though, with all the reshops, etc., plus glossy reports. Heaven knows how much their IT system has cost them over the last couple of years!

Whilst I agree with that in part there must be a general rule of thumb working from shopper fee to client fee... If shopper gets paid x then client gets charged 6x or 5x etc... Gives the competitors a guide where to pitch their tender anyway :(

I cringe every time RE get another client (and lately ESA as well!) it's time the good guys started selling the benefits of professional shoppers and how a good quality objective report is infinitely preferable to a highly subjective RE report.

Spoke too soon - there is a proof reading query on the other one i did yesterday...

I said the sales person was wearing a scarf. I have to say what sort of scarf. Am wondering how many details I will need to give - I didn't look at it that much.

Colour, length (to the nearest mm), width (again to the nearest mm), fabric composition, country of origin, retailer purchased from, price if known, purchase date and full washing instructions covertly captured from the label without the salespersons knowledge :rotfl:

Oh, almost forgot, how did the scarf make you feel? ;)

I don't know how the scarf made you feel but RE's bl**dy queries always make me feel like wrapping something around the proofreader's neck and throttling them with it! A scarf would do :rotfl:

Think I'll be getting another proof reading query on that one.

Mental note to self - do not ever mention scarfs again.

I can remember back to when they didn't have TEAM MEL and proof reading queries were unheard of. They should just sack the whole lot of MEL'S TEAM and life would be so much simpler for everyone.

Yes, but the company being MS'd may have decided to change the uniform to include a scarf that matches the nail polish of all their staff, and if it hadn't been for Team Mel they wouldn't know how we "felt" about this.
